well, I think the basis for the decision that anyone with a car have insurance and wear a seat belt was curbing COMMERCIAL costs of those responsible car owners who were basically ALREADY covering the costs for those who didnt cover their cars and had accidents.

In essence this is the SAME thing,, except unlike a car, EVERYONE has health they need to look after, and when people go UNINSURED and then find themself receiving any assistance,, guess who the buck passes on to already? WE already pay for it,, let the uninsured get their chance at affordable healthcare while REDUCING the price we are already paying for healthcare.

God Help Us All...After this I refuse to call Barry Sorento Hussain Obama President He has stuck a Knife in the Heart of America As Deep As any Radical Muslim......I now call Obama`s Presidency Jihad Against the American People

OK 'random X',

Are you serious about what you are writing here: you no longer respect the democracy of this land???

Are you seriously accusing the President of the USA to be running a 'Jihad like' threat against the people of the USA???

Is that really what you think???

Are you then going to follow through with actions consistent with this line of thought???

Let us all know, because if that is the case, YOU represent an official threat to the USA and its head of state, and all Americans, witnesses to this fact, have a duty to report you as a potential threat.

So what is it 'randomX', are you serious??? Or are you just talking 'Rambo tihs'!!!

Thankfully I found a wonderful job with excellent insurance. (See some poor single moms don't sit around with their thumb up their rears waiting on handouts) grumble I'm really happy that it passed and all of my fellow human beings will get the needed medical attention they deserve!! Being healthy and alive shouldn't even be argued about.

You realize its not going to help many people, just an estimated 10-15% of people not covered right now.

How much do you like your insurance? The reason I ask is because you will more then likely lose your current insurance for a lesser policy under this act.

guess it all depends upon ones definition of 'help'
from politifact.com (sorry, its one source that consistently reports pros and cons on each issue)

Using the strict, unsubsidized figures, 60 percent of Americans in the private insurance market should see their premiums fall. And taking into account the subsidies, a full 70 percent would see their premiums fall. And almost 94 percent would see their premiums either fall or stay the same. No matter how you slice it, the overwhelming majority are likely to see a decline

I have Strong Opinions YES. And I stand by the fact I think they way Obama runs this country and passes laws the way he passes them makes him no better than any other Slimy Domestic Terrorist... But I would NOT even think about doing anything stupid? Hell no... Your the one who ASSUMED that crap I would never EVER make a threat AGAINST ANYONE much less the "supposed" POTUS. Clear? Good.

sometimes I think 'perhaps pot should be legal',....lol, this is one of those times,,,,

anyway,,for those scared of communism and government takeovers,,,from my favorite unbiased source,,politifact.com

The cornerstone of the Democratic program is actually the status quo. The majority of Americans would continue to get health coverage the way they do now -- from private insurance companies. That coverage would be paid for the same way it is now -- by private employers and individual premiums. That's not a government takeover..................

And once again, we are faced with over-the-top rhetoric about the health care plan. It's perfectly legitimate to raise questions about the plan and the government's role, but it's wildly incorrect to label it a government takeover. Yes, the plan would expand the government's role, but it primarily would continue to rely on private insurers for the vast majority of Americans. And, for people who have trouble getting coverage, it would create a marketplace so people could shop for coverage from private insurers. It's ridiculously false to call that a government takeover.

because, unfortunately, we have plenty of children in office who just like to argue and whatever gets passed SOMEONE will object and more compromise will have to be done,,,,until one side or the other tires of it or actually starts CARING about progress

The insurance companies can no longer deny you coverage for preexisting conditions. The insurance companies can no longer rescind your insurance if you get sick. The Medicare doughnut hole has been closed. Etc., etc., etc.

Here's what happened on Wall Street this morning....

The Morgan Stanley Healthcare Payor Index gained 2.3 percent. WellCare Health Plans Inc rose 3.3 percent to $31.73.

Folks, you have been conned by Obama, again.

And for you 30 million people that now must buy insurance....open your wallet....did you actually think you were going to get it totally free?

when people are buying a product,, its possible its stock can go up,,,,

and I dont remember any campaign promise for FREE healthcare, so hopefully those previously uninsured were aware they would have to buy insurance..the hope is that AFFORDABLE insurance will be offered due to the increased number of policy holders...
