judge a person by what they post or topics they start on here?

Have you ever maybe wanted to get to know a person or not because of what they have posted on here?


Just curious

If the post is continuously hateful or rude, then I am not interested in anything they have to say off of the forums.

Other than that, I will talk to anyone

That's a good attitude to have, rose. It also helps to be objective about a subject and not overly sensitive. Some people still haven't figured that one out yet.

I try not to for the most part, but it happens sometimes. I've been wrong about the person, too and have had no problem admitting that I was wrong in my judgment.

I try not to judge anyone but at times impressions of others take over from what they post within the forums.

If one whines all the time and always gives the me oh my pity party story it gets old and yes I will stay away from those.

As long as I have been here and as much as I read the forums even if I don't post within certain ones. After a while you get to know quit a bit about some at times you wish you did not know some things.

As far as get to know certain ones the longer they are here the more you will learn about them if I want to know more then I will chat with them within e-mail or on the forums as well.

Yes and no. I can tell if a person is a whiner or an optimist based on their posts, but as to what they're really like as a person in real life, I don't know. Only from talking to them one on one can you really learn about them, and even then, it's based on what they're willing to share and what they strive to keep private.

You can also steer the original post in a different direction too, so don't get too hung up on the choice of words the original poster used. E.G. the killer whale attack thread that was recently posted. Discuss the topic, don't kill the messenger. Maybe it was wrong in how they worded it, but they wanted to gain some sort of insight or education about a particular topic. It's your opinion so you can spin it any way you want to spin it.

There are two people on here I won't read or look at their posts, they are so creepy.
They did the unforgivable.
They made it personal for some gals. In a bad way.

On the other hand.
There are quite a few posters that I will read simply because
I know they will have something cogent to say.
And some are just soooo funny. I can laugh all day thinking on it.
So yeah, I will hop right on a poster I know.
I think the forums are the means that justify the ends.
Oh.
And I read all YOUR stuff :-)

I realize people post sometimes just to get their feelings out Would i want to date someone who is constantly venting about women probably not would i be a friend yes

I dont judge a post no matter how insane it may be. I will definately have a thought or two about that person, but nothing I could jump to conclusions about.The only thing I stand against is racism.

Also dont judge ppl cuz u havent been around them before in real life, somtimes they are geniune in their questions, other times they show their wild side and just funk around.

absolutely,, peoples demeanor and statements say alot to me about their character.

My interpretation of other people's demeanour and statements says a lot about me.

It says the observer and the observed are both human, but not necessarily compatible humans,,,,

i judge all the time.

there are a few people on this site that revolt me and a handful that interest me.

and, yes, what they post (on a consistent basis) will determine whether i'd ever form any sort of friendship with them.

Do not judge me too harshly, papersmile, I hope that one day I can become your friend. You seem pretty wise to me, and worth knowing and having as a friend.
