It could be worse though, than only looking pictures. What if men would only look at those who put up big boob shots or nakid pictures ?

Some do! laugh

Apparently they do read them, so far I've gotten two emails complaining about mine. Glad to know we do have some literate, albeit opinionated, men amongst us.

I got called a B!tch for not wanting a guy with kids. And for being pro-choice. I mean really, if you don't agree, move on. It's not that hard, a twitch of the mouse...

And since it's never made much of a dfference with or without the profile info, I've currently got, "No smokers/dippers or hunters". The kid thing might be up there too, and then tossed a Nickelback song in. I may go Breaking Benjamin tonight.

I once had a guy demand to know why I didn't want kids. I thought it was funny, especially since if I did want them, he'd be the very last man on earth I would have chosen to father them.laugh

Nickelback rocks!!!glasses

Yeah, that's exactly my thing too. People seem to get so indignant if you aren't falling all over kids and especially theirs. I have no problems with kids though there's a bunch of parents I'd like to strangle. But if I ever go the route of having kids, then I want MY kids, not someone elses. I've been careful to not have kids because I want it to be the right person. For kids to happen, it's a one time shot. I don't believe I could truly ever feel comfortable with another person raising my kids that weren't theirs. There are so many horror stories of the boyfriends killing their girlfriends kids that I woudn't want to be anywhere near that situation.

Plus I have this continually happening dreams of twins, going on 14 years now, so that's another spook factor.

Trust me, every single heterosexual men will check those out too. If they don't they aren't males or they are gay. It's just how it is.

Well, of COURSE they do! But hopefully most are a little more realistic. (Oh silly me for saying that! laugh )

Do you think men actually read profiles, or just Drool over the Pictures.....devil

If I like the pic, I check their "body type" setting. If it's average or below, I read their profile. Sounds shallow, I know, but I'm a pretty thin guy myself & am looking for someone compatible

Interesting forum posters I'll perv to see what kind of person they are. I do read their profiles

Well, I'm glad to know someone reads that section. The kind of people who kept emailing, nudging and perving me clearly hadn't read anything down there at all!!!!grumble

Why bother? Most women think that 'overweight = average" since most women in this country are overweight... I literally have had women tell me that's why they call themselves 'average' when they clearly are 5' 3" and weight 245lbs...

In fairness, men do the same thing. And there's that height issue thing too! Unless I'm really 6ft tall, the couple of people I'm met claiming to be 5'10 were really 5'7, since I was taller, and in flat sandles.

Oh I'm sure you're right. It just makes me wonder that if someone can't be honest about something so basic as that with themselves, then how could they be honest with a partner in life?

Perception of themselves? Like the silly PC commercials where the nerdy heavy guy sees himself as a superman type, or any of the others?!

Their bodyshot pic usually gives them away, and if they don't have one, that gets me wonderin'

It is absolutely true! I can't believe how many men think they are "average"! Even worse are the ones who say they are "athletic" and they have this big 'ol beer belly laugh I guess lifting a beer to one's mouth could be considered a sport...

They probably figure that since they're drinking it while watching a sport, that makes them athletic....

so far,in my limited time here.
i have discovered that its easier to click on the posts/numbers under the handle, and get a better grasp of a person from what and how they have replied to various topics, than to read their profiles..

the profiles can be redone,tweaked etc etc..the posts,after a certain time..cannot.
just a thought...

That's the best way to do it and it gives a much more accurate picture of someone.

I do that, too. I like to know who I'm talking to.

so your kids are number 1? well i would have thought that was a given.

but to SHOUT IT IN LEX` FACE well that seems like you are trying to remind YOURSELF.

I'm really OK with it, though, because the sooner I know they have kids, the sooner I can quit reading!!

I mean, I don't get the necessity of turning their profile into a string of gleefully-imagined tortures for the non-kid-oriented, but everybody's got their issues.

I pretty much always read profiles. If it's someone I know from the boards then I want to know more about "who" it is and that's why I'm looking at the profile in the first place. About the only time is if it's not someone I know (maybe someone that perved my profile, then if I'm not attracted at all then I probably won't read the profile, but obviously I'm not going to be drooling over the pictures either.
