Topic: Satan using music? | |
---|---|
They've been saying Satan is influencing music forever. Probably as long as it has been around. I know some churches that dont even use instruments. *shrugs* I do think there are negative things portrayed in some music, and that, to be "cool" ( I feel older and older the more I go on) people buy into stereotypes that the media sets up. It's important to take everything you see and hear with a grain of salt, but most people don't put that into practice. "They" have been saying satan influences many things...people need to step up and accept responsibilities for their choices. "The devil made me do it" is as old as dirt and most annoying!! |

I agree, the devil doesnt make anyone do things anymore than alcohol makes anyone do anything,,but both can certainly influence peoples outlooks about what it is they are doing.

That has to do because of music and a lot of the pagan dancing, and sensuality of those dances. There's nothing more blood-jumping then a drum circle with bellydancers. Heck, with the right drum the vibrations can affect the body. Personal experience there.
Music is a sensual/spiritual thing, and the Church wanted to control that. |

as a guitar player in a band and many bands over the past 20 years, I can say none of those bands were influenced by Satan or had any religious views. Political but not Satanic. If you really look or dug into it, I have read that ALL music is a gift to man from Satan before he was cast out of Heaven. So that in mind won't music as a whole be a gift from Heaven?

If you really look or dug into it, I have read that ALL music is a gift to man from Satan before he was cast out of Heaven. So that in mind won't music as a whole be a gift from Heaven? no because Satan was kicked out of heaven for not being heavenly and or doing as is needed. He grew an ego and claimed to be greater then God himself. I'll be honest, you can not claim a genre is of satan, eg., country, rock, pop, rap, ect. They all have there good songs and there bad songs. But as a general rule, rap and rock are mostly about drinking, druging, sex, and so on. Any song(s) that have reference to any of the above is of the devil. People have to keep in mind the devil doesn't influence us face to face, he works through objects as music, drugs, sex, and of in such. |

I liked DMX, as a rap artist, until he went all soft and Christian on his fans. His earlier stuff was very very dark and brutal and evil.

I would suggest all to listen to the the minsters message:
You can hold a gun to my head, and not scare me, but this message actually made me scared for the the youth. The Truth Behind Hip Hop: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GIt7qpWgno&feature=PlayList&p=36B5B625C640932B&index=4 |

This how it works...I don't believe in censorship!! Period! As parents we protect our kids as long as we can, during that process we teach them..conversation, open communication lines, by example.
The devil made me say it, the devil made me think it, the devil, made me eat, it, the devil made me kill it. There's a real good rule to follow here..it it doesn't make you feel good, don't do listen to it. There are certain kinds of music I just don't listen to because I don't like the way I feel as I hear it. Another reason to b!tch..attempt to force censorship, blame another. The "apple syndrome".... Step up and walk away if you think the "satan" is coming out in your during a song...unless of course it feels right to ya. |

no body can ever say "Devil made me do it" Devil never "MAKES" anyone do anything........ he just "TEMPTS" people to do things or act in a certain way, but he can NEVER make you do or not do something.

what if, by chance, you happen to be the devil? can he "make" you do stuff then?

Satan using music? Minister G. Craige Lewis speaks on Satans' role in music. The Truth Behind Hip Hop: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GIt7qpWgno&feature=PlayList&p=36B5B625C640932B&index=4 From the post , what I heard sounded reasonable,,I only would disagree that it is about the GENRE of the music instead of the message. It is easy to make things stick if they have a 'catchy' melody(dont believe me, research the money spent on commercial jingles). But just because something has a catchy melody or head bobbing beat, doesn't mean it has to be evil or devilish. |
