yes satan uses music. We are to speak morally and clean. For example we are not suppose to curse, expecially cursing others. And rap music does this alot. Not an attack at rap music so sorry if it comes out as such. But with rap music you have people talking about doin drugs, alot of sex, using foul language, and much more stuff as such. And these are all immoral and against God's will. And you'll nottice that people act alot like there music. As in you'll never see someone that listens to country music mainly go around saying "Wuz up dog". And many other things as such.

I would expand the claim to include ALL MEDIA. Whenever an image or an idea is pounded into ones head, it becomes 'normal'. The media has a way of setting the standards culturally and defining what is 'normal' so that right and wrong easily become blurred with popular and unpopular.

I'm sure Satan has or will find his/her way into the hearts', and minds of the people. If Satan hasn't already.... |

He never actually said that. That was a parody on what he said about Haiti. He'd gotta' be the most irresponsible man on television, no?

My very first experience in a Baptist church almost cost me my left hand.
My daughter's mom, shortly after we got together, talked me into going to church with her. There I sit with my long hair, having listened to some Heavy Metal music on the way to the church, and the preacher just happened to pick that particular Sunday to have a sermon about eh " Evils " of Heavy Metal music. I have always been one to question people who make broad claims...and this would have been no different. When I heard the preacher say " It's either good Christian music, or it's spawned from THE DEPTHS OF HELL!!!! " my daughter's mom IMMEDIATELY grabbed my left hand and put an absolute deathgrip on it to keep me from saying anything...lmao Of course, later in life, I managed to get banned from another ( completely unrelated ) Baptist church for asking a simple question of the preacher. Another ex talked me into going with her. The preacher was a real Hellfire and Brimstone kind of guy. She leaned over to me and whispered ( in the middle of the sermon ) that the preacher had had a heart attack while preaching a couple of years before. So...on the way out...in the greeting line...it finally came to be our turn to say something to the preacher, praise the sermon or whatever...and I asked him... I hear that you had a heart attack while preaching once. He said " Yes sir. I certainly did. Only by the grace of God am I here today. " I looked at him and said... " Think maybe that was God's way of telling you that you needed to mellow out??? " Yeah...I got banned for that. * shrugs * |

They've been saying Satan is influencing music forever.
Probably as long as it has been around. I know some churches that dont even use instruments. *shrugs* I do think there are negative things portrayed in some music, and that, to be "cool" ( I feel older and older the more I go on) people buy into stereotypes that the media sets up. It's important to take everything you see and hear with a grain of salt, but most people don't put that into practice. |

It's important to take everything you see and hear with a grain of salt, but most people don't put that into practice. That is true. Its not music, its the message in the music. Just like talking is not necessarily inspired by the devil, but the message that people sometimes deliver in their speech can be. There are great songs with great messages in all genres, and likewise awful and evil messages. |
