Wow,hard to say where i stand on that. My first thought is thats sweet that he's that dedicated to his wife. Second thought is if shes not having sex with him then theres probably a reason and the relationships probably doomed and the poor guys not really going to be able to get another woman now...yikes!

to mutilate one's self is not a form of devotion - some serious issues there

Seems like devotion to me. I think in countries where they cut off the hand of a thief,, there is much less thievery. I think it may be likewise with castration. Took alot of courage and the only reason I can think of is devotion,,,,
