Unfortunate, but I would imagine many jewish people dont agree.

An editorial is called commentary because it is just the comments of an individual. He is free to feel that way as I am free to disagree but I give his opinion no more or less credibility than anyone elses and dont assume he represents every jewish person any more than I represent every black one.

Any person who would have written that in the American media would have been crucified with no end of barrage of calling him racist and right wing nut. admit it!

Yes, he snubbed them in several different ways. It's typical of him, his arrogance causes him to decide on his own modes of behavior, rather than following the norms.

See, it's because how the news gets around the world. There is a delay in everything so Europe was (is?) still going about the 2008 Campaign and he is really doing all that things he said right now..so whatever they report there - and I have read many biased news from the European press and I read them daily (German/French/Romanian/British/Hungarian) , they are still going around with the "change we can believe in" - and they think that there are huge changes already taken place in USA and they are shocked to learn that nothing has changed whatsoever.

Even here, people still refuse to see that there is absolutely nothing changed, beside debating about the healthcare and tearing each other hair out on various issues. It's all just talk talk talk for an entire year now and ZERO things have changed.

ACtually, in America we have the right to our opinions so people have just as much right to oppose what is written as they have to write it. The regulars on the Fox news stations make these types of assertions regularly and none are hanging from a cross.

ONe cant reserve the right to publicly decry the actions and character of others in a public forum or venue and then cry when they are on the receiving end of similar criticism.

Hey yellow, this is just another article about individuals who oppose his decisions, there is also this paragraph in the article


"The Norwegian Nobel committee, which awards the peace prize, dismissed the criticism. "We always knew that there were too many events in the programme. Obama has to govern the US and we were told early on that he could not commit to all of them," said Geir Lundestad, secretary of the committee.

Although Obama will not lunch with King Harald, he will see him on a visit to the royal palace.

"



If he attends public outings people accuse him of being an egotist and publicity hound and if he doesnt others feel snubbed. He cant please everyone anymore than any of us can.

hmmmmm it was just something to discuss. I realize that there are different views, pro or against. I just threw this in since we were talking about the Nobel Peace Prize. that is why I gave the link....so all can read it

However, if he had any courage he would have refused to accept a Nobel prematurely. He would have asked the prize committee to judge him at the end of his term in office and not at its start.

Obama hasn't done so, and this isn't surprising. Thus far the glamorous president has not shown courage on any issue or in any area. True, Obama is intelligent, articulate and charismatic. However, he hasn't really done anything yet in the international arena. He has orchestrated neither confrontations nor reconciliations. He has neither won a victory nor made peace. He has not evinced willingness to pay any sort of price for any sort of achievement. In his first year as president of the world, Obama has not proved he has a backbone. He has not yet manifested himself as a leader.

ok...my opinion on the Norwegians is this....I don't agree that he should have gotten the prize BUT he has things to do back home that take precedent over all of that. so I can see why he would have to cancel some things

The second sentence in our Declaration of Independence states,

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Why would any US President bow to any Royal?
Esp. the Queen or King of England.
It erks me every time I see it happen.
