Topic: Would you lay down your life for a fellow person? | |
---|---|
There is much talk of laying down one's life for a belief, a religion...
I wonder how many would sacrifice their life for a fellow human being? And how many actually have? What would YOU be prepared to do for your humanity? With or without religious, or political beliefs? What are you prepared to give up, for your fellow humans? |

I would if it was a part of God's will, I'll know because I will be at a
place at the perfect time. I'm NOT even going to lie Jess, I'm a sissy when it comes to pain. So I would do it out of a reflex to help someone and might lose my life in the process. Example- move a toddler out the street, try to alarm the police during a robbery, etc |

Let me be clear, I wouldn't lay down my life for any religion, it's not
worth it. Would I lay down my life for a fellow human being? I don't know, I would like to think that I would. I've never been in the situation, so I don't know. If I had been in the situation, I wouldn't be typing this, would I? I'm guessing it would be easy for me to say that I would, but I'm not sure that it's the truth. I can imagine many situations, where I wouldn't and many situations where I believe I would. Personally, I hope I'm never in the situation, I'm rather fond of living. |

Yes I would. I don't not think about myself in times of danger. I react to save others.. Only after the Danger is gone to I freak out.... |

I would risk my life for any human anywhere. You are all precious in
the eyes of God. |

"Personally, I hope I'm never in the situation, I'm rather fond of living." Thankyou for the honesty. It is true, we're human and you want to say "yes" but truly when the time comes..what do you REALLY do? |

I wonder how many would sacrifice their life for a fellow human being? Seems a lot would. And how many actually have? I know obscure question....perhaps if worded, how many have placed their own life at risk, for another? What would YOU be prepared to do for your humanity? A lot of honest answers there, realistic, and not whimsical. With or without religious, or political beliefs? Also seems humanity as a whole, comes before religious, or with religious, or political beliefs. What are you prepared to give up, for your fellow humans? I know, a bit of a trick question...and one that could have been taken in context of the flavour of the questions, or out of context... So to answer my own questions... Definately I would place my own life at risk for the life of another, and have done, and yes, you are right, bored, reflex, plays a huge part...it is in the unthinking, in the moment...most times...well, for me, it has been. And yes I have, and undoubtably will again. I am prepared to do all I can, for humanity, for my fellow humans, even if it is at the expense of my life, for another. And religion, and politics play no part for me. I will give up, whatever is required, including my own life, to support and assist, the life of another, any or all... I am not that attached to it, (my own life). |

I've had to ponder over this topic for awhile. There are those who have
had the good fortune of finding the answer to this question first hand. Those who have risked surgery to donate a part of themselves, literally, for the life of another, whether they knew that person or not. There was a time I wished I too had such an opportunity. But I have grown wiser and realized that there is ample opportunity. Giving your life or risking your life is only one of many unselfish deeds that save life. Some give time, some give money, some give lessons and some give hope. Others brave the criticism of society to fight for just causes and all of these are a giving of ones life. |
