Topic: What Do You Consider Rude? | |
---|---|
Everyone has their own idea of what is rude...is it one who doesn't say hi back, cut you off in traffic, slams doors, talks on their cell phone in front of you in the grocery check out line... What do you think being rude is? |

The cell phone thing does bother me. Mainly when it is a customer wanting to order food. They yack on their phone while ordering. So rude. If they come back complaining that their order is wrong, whose fault is that?

When someone in steps on your foot or bumps into you without apologizing.

It can take on so many manifestations...but it always starts simply as disregard for anyone other than yourself.

The person who cuts me off while driving is definately being rude at least

Cutting me off in traffic and not even attempting to catch up to the speed limit! Also people in the checkout counter talking on their cell phones ignoring the cashier.

cell phones
my pet peeve is cell phones in public especially restaurants I go stand beside em and listen in and make comments about their conversation and they say "excuse me but this is a private call" and I tell em "nope its not. private is at home. this is public" |

I agree with all the other replies, but a more specific example on Mingle is when someone gives a quoted compliment or greeting to another member and the OP ignores the gesture.
I see OP's who post a topic give "special" efforts to some who participate but not to others. A general comment does not warrant a personal reply necessarily, but when a member is trying to give someone a quoted reply in kind, I think it's rude if the other person doesn't at least acknowledge the effort. Shoot, even a or a will do, right? I think a lot of that comes with the cliques and "freeze outs" we see on social sites. Just my ramblings ... |

I think a lot of people who “fluff up” on cell phone calls are trying to draw attention to make themselves look important. If it’s that personal -- take it outside or wait until you are NOT in public? This carries in the OPPOSITE example for people who do not give other's their personal space in ATM lines or at a cash register. When I am conducting a financial transaction, and someone is on my shoulder, I always say, "Can you please give me a little personal space?" |

You are very social and polite! Funny as hell too! |

nothing says "I'm important" like a person on a cell phone saying "I'm important"
ATM lines. I hate the people who get money and then take their time putting away their card and their money into their purse/wallet and slowly clicking the seat belt and the FINALLY driving off I get my money and then pull up for the person behind me and THEN put away my card and my money and click the seat belt |

Rude? Hmmmmmmmmm.
1. Taking the time to write an email and not get any kind of response is rude. 2. Cell Phones. I am really over it. It is normal and people just need to shut the hell up about it. Cell phones are a part of our lives. If they want to talk, then let em. However....... 3. Cell Phones in a movie theater. Turn the damn things off. I didn't pay my money to hear you on your phone. Or hear it beep when you get a text message. And I sure as heck do not wanna see you backlight on while I am enjoying my movie. 4. Pants down below the a$$. Pull the f*ckin things up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

You are protected from would-be thieves. If I'm in a vestibule ATM or at a register, I do like to put my money and card in my purse before I leave that area so it's not in my hand as I walk in the parking lot. I don't "organize" it though. I shove in, zip it up, and move on. Hmm, not unlike some men! |
