Please forgive if I seem presumptuous, but as eloquent as his words were, I can't help but ask, where is Christ in his message? God is in every poem ![]() |

Someone Should Start Laughing
I have a thousand brilliant lies For the question: How are you? I have a thousand brilliant lies For the question: What is God? If you think that the Sun and the Ocean Can pass through that tiny opening Called the mouth, O someone should start laughing! Someone should start wildly Laughing- Now! Hafiz- from 'I heard God Laughing' - translated by Daniel Ladinsky |

The ghost of that which is naught
is lingering about in the shadows of nothing slithering through the cracks in the abyss of emptiness But mine eyes have seen reflections of her being slowly seeping through the fabric of life's ethereal essence Her invisible nakedness barely perceptible sliping silently though the melodic harmonies of nature to embrace the core of that which I am Oh what a wondrous feeling! Like precious droplets of water splashing on my parched tongue as I journey through the arid desert of uncertainty Only time will tell of that which is timeless and only space will pervade the nothingness that lurks beneath the overture of life's pulsating quintessence Oh my little Dream Time elf You're like a fairy lost in the eternal timelessness of now if only I had met you after there had been a before we could have roamed in the outback of the primordial future But alas the winds howl and call me to my rightful place among the stars to bask in the scintillations of my own creativity A creativity that I call my own even though I merely transform the eternal spirit of that which is you into the essence of that which you perceive It is the least I can do with such a precious gift that you have bestowed upon me asking nothing in return nothing in return Nothing but the endless cycle of love that flows so effortless from the lips of those who kiss the wind Abra (5/28/08) |

Another Very Beautiful Poem ![]() Thank you. That was entirely inspired by Jess Lee. And was actually even about her in a deeply spiritual kind of way. Since she knows that she is everyone and no one. When the inspiration strikes I just let it flow. In fact, that's kind of what the poem is about. ![]() It has a pantheistic flavor to it. Jess and I and the wind are one. And of course *I* can be anyone, and everyone. I just happened to be the I who wrote this poem. ![]() But that was today. Who knows what tomorrow shall bring? ![]() |

How Does It Feel To Be A Heart?
Once a young woman asked me, "How does it feel to be a man?" And I replied, "My dear, I am not so sure." Then she said, "Well aren't you a man?" And this time I replied, "I view gender As a beautiful animal That people often take for a walk on a leash And might enter in some odd contest To try to win some strange prizes. My dear, A better question for Hafiz Would have been, "How does it feel to be a Heart?" For all I know is Love, And I find my heart Infinite And Everywhere!" ![]() |

Thank you everyone for this this, it is so great to see that some people do look to the deeper parts of religion and philosophy with a open heart and mind. There are to many people that just drift through life and don't care about anything but themselves, and you all have once again shone me that there are people that look deeper, so once again, Thank You! and thank you for letting me see some of Hafiz's work again he is my favorite poet.
