~ The Dawning of the Truth ~
~~~ I once was happy when I knew not Back in the days when I was a tot But then I grew and thought I knew So thinking thoughts became my view Pondering on problems I so foolishly embraced Imagining solutions to the perils that I faced Then one day an angel said, “Do you believe in who you are?” At least I think it was an angel though it may have been a star It doesn’t really matter for both concepts are bizarre We are them, and they are we and this is what we are All that we can really know from the moment of our birth Is that moments are what matter as we live our life on earth Don’t think about it logically if you wish to know the truth Truth is what we’ve always known since the dawning of our youth ~~~ (Abra 8/5/07) P.S. Don't mind me, I'm just hanging wallpaper. |
much of Hafizs' poetry sounds better in Persian...i mean with translations, you lose some of the meaning..
that first poem, about kissing God, is very deep and is and seems to have more meaning within himself as a Muslim.. |
Thank you wd85
even in English I think they are passionate magic I don't speak or understand Persian so I am grateful that I can still experience Hafiz in some way knowing that they are translations. I resonate strongly with his message. ![]() |
I Have Learned So Much I Have Learned So much from God That I can no longer Call Myself A Christian, a Hindu, a Muslim, a Buddhist, a Jew. The Truth has shared so much of Itself With me That I can no longer call myself A man, a woman, an angel, Or even a pure Soul. Love has Befriended Hafiz so completely It has turned to ash And freed Me Of every concept and image my mind has ever known. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
~ Alex is and Angel ~~~
~~~ Alex is an angel with the essence of a child Her wings embrace the breath of life with its mystery beguiled Earthly bound her soul is freed from suffering and pain The apathy human greed remains the only chain Binding souls of masses with it’s gruesome selfish goals The lusting taste of gluttony turns humans into fools Raping them of wisdom blinding them from truth Their little naked egos behaving quite uncouth Rest assured this world will pass and lessons will be learned Egos will be dealt with before the trial’s adjourned Little girls and angels will inherit all the earth And dance to pretty music with joyfulness and mirth ~~~ (Abra 8/31/07) |

I don't attach myself to labels ... but if I had to ... I just might hang my hat on Sufi ...
![]() What is a Sufi? One who does not separate himself from others by opinion or dogma; and who realizes the heart as the Shrine of God. What does the Sufi desire? To remove the false self and discover God within. What does the Sufi teach? Happiness. What does the Sufi seek? Illumination. What does the Sufi see? Harmony. What does the Sufi give? Love to all created things. What does the Sufi get? A greater power of love. What does the Sufi find? GOD. And lose? self |

I met a man once that possessed some very admirable insights and many of which came from his life lived in Tehran which premised his journeys.
His views and observations left an impression never to be forgotten by me and remain indistinguishable without him as they are one. We enjoy the kinship found in being free thinkers and appreciative souls. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
