Well for me, it's good for a paycheck... Don't take me wrong, I take no
satisfaction in taking human life, however if someone is out to kill me, it's kill or be killed... I just happen to get paid for it. |

So, Peacekeeper, that would seem to mean that when someone buts a round
through your neck that that's OK, because afterall, he's just being paid to do it? Interesting..... |

On the contrary. I'm not fighting for a religious cause, or out of the
influence from a pragmatic society. Really, I'm not fighting at all. If it was up to me, I'd do this next deployment (Baghdad in december), and never once have to fire my weapon. I'm simply stating that my choice of profession benefits from war, although this may not be a good thing for society itself, it's a good thing for me. You can call this selfish all you want, but in the end all anyone is out to do is better themselves, and help the people they love. For me this job security, money, and benefits involved will allow me to help my family and the people I care about. Do I support the war? No, of course not, it's a political and religious mess, as all wars are... but it pays me. |

Understand that the people shooting at me do so out of a desire to kill
me. I shoot back only out of a desire to survive. |

The oxymoron of Peacekeeping FORCES.... My son is also part of a peacekeeping force and he saw the ridiculousness of the term and all it stands for. Will this be your first tour? |

And peacekeeper is a reference to the unit I belong to, which is a
Military Police unit. |

Third....
Sheeeittt...How do you do it? How do you keep up the strength to go back, again and again? I understand you believe in your values, and as a patrolling force in a secured(?) area...feel you are doing the best and right thing...I do understand...I do not hold you accountable for a war...I do not hold one man for a whole political religious debacle....and neither do most here... |

The first people to greet us as we step off the plane are our families and friends. As far as military personnel, the first and foremost to speak to are part of a re-integration team that helps us to re-adapt to living a normal life. These civilians and soldiers help us with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), Family issues, Financial issues, and anything else that may hinder us from living a normal life. Although incentives ARE offered (though nowhere NEAR $50,000, and only to select Military Occupations), they are rarely pressured into re-enlistment. If they are it's at the fault of their unit. In fact, most soldiers are more likely to find help from the military in succeeding in returning to a civilian lifestyle. |

My sex life is great, though I hardly see how it's relevant... Did I at
some point hint that I was here for sex? If so I missed it.. |

SOOO watt are you doing wasteing your time in a place like this when you
could be out and about showen off and haven a good time. And i reckon with your pay packet you would have a Great Sex Life testosterone filled goose When did this turn into a personal attack of my character? I'm here simply out of intrigue. I have my share of a good time on the weekends, but as we speak I'm on an over-night CQ shift. Though I'm not your stereotypical soldier, as I'm sure you're not the stereotypical hippie. I hit the occasional bar, I go dancing, I date, I enjoy out door activities (kayaking in particular which I just picked up). I have no problems meeting women outside of the internet, I'm simply here for stimulating conversation, and to broaden my search for a meaningful relationship. I do well enough financially, enough to own 4 cars and a motorcycle with plenty saved for a home. As far as the "Testosterone filled goose" comment, that's once again stereotypical. I prefer the company of friends and the idea of a real relationship, as apposed to the idea of hunting for sex. You know as well as I do that if sex was all I wanted, there are plenty of "Army Groupies" out there willing to oblige. |
