That thin Blue wall you speak of is all there is between the criminals and society in general.

Do I think every arrest is legit or even done politely? No. I am the first person to hang a bad cop out to dry. If it were and unwarranted arrest or she had not struggled and been Tazed I would be saying foul too and fileing charges for abuse of power.

But Citizen's give Police the authority to stop, detain, and arrest people of all ages on the spot who are suspected of breaking the law. The person with any respect for society will defend their actions when they get in front of the judge, not abuse and arresting officer of the People.

Adults with brains and respect know to shut up, do what they are told, and cooperate when spoken to by the authority vested in and officer, judge, or other public official. Not pick and choose who they take direction from. Or go home first just because they are old and don't feel like it. From what has been said this woman actively resisted arrest and was trying to harm the officer.

He is MY paid defender and I, as a citizen, do not agree that he has to tolerate being disrespected or abused by a suspect anymore than I would if I were there doing it myself.

The majority of the time people who don't act like criminals are not treated like criminals. Do sometimes cops get a little jumpy and cuff people at the scene while they are sorting things out? Or tell people to shut up before they hear the whole story. Yes. I am a woman of color and more than once I have had to stand fuming while cops figure out who's who and what is going on at a scene. It is irratateing, and embarrassing, but generally when the smoke clears the officers are professional, polite, and even caring and helpful to the people who are in the right and act civil. I can't tell you the number of times that officer's help the elderly especially.

So that thin blue line that so many want to call a conspiracy or abuse of power gets my support, gratitiude, and the benifit of the doubt.

My first question is why we hire Officers who can not defend themselves from bodily harm from a 74 year old woman without the use of what could be deadly force.For this officer to claim he was in harms way would be ludicrous to say the least considering his size.If he were in danger ,I might not pose this question but it is clear there was no dangerous situation..
Question 2.......Hypothetically we are a couple...you spit on me and I tazer you. OR You throw a punch at me and miss and I tazer you..Now before you did either action ,I warned you ....do not do it and you proceed..Do you still believe that I should be prosecuted? Or is that a rule only for the police?

That is not nice.I have no respect for an out of line officer...however to wish ill upon the police as a whole is a very sad place for you to be in life..A young man I raised for 17 years is a officer in Jax florida and he is one of the good men out there and I take your comments as a slam to him...Why do you think that way is my concern...If you would please elaborate..

I raised this boy with compassion for others and basicaslly to have a passive nature...He chose to defend your country for ten years in the Navy SEAR unit which is rescue in the midst of battle..Very noble I would think...He did not sign up to go out and kill but a want to help others that need help at the worst of times...He has carried that attitude with him to the police department and took a big cut in pay to do it.So you may think that is despicable....I think it is Honorable...The sad part is he spends most of his day protecting folks who would spit on him unless they need help.Folks like you!!

Sorry, but most cops don't "protect"...most tend to abuse their power and use it against law abiding citizens, however, according to the video this wasn't the case. But more often than not cops are power hungry, not the most noble of jobs to get into...why not a fire fighter or an EMT? Right, because they want action, shootouts and whatnot...well, when that fails (think it is somewhere around 5-10% of cops are actually involved in shootouts) then they have to exert that aggression somewhere, don't they?

I personally don't respect cops, wouldn't go so far as to spit on them...but I hardly respect them as the profession they stand for is counter-active more often than not.
