I assure you, finding water on the moon would be a bigger discovery than Christopher Columbus made.

I assure you, finding water on the moon would be a bigger discovery than Christopher Columbus made. i don't know about that... columbus discovered a "new world" complete with water, life and human societies... mayhaps if they actually found life in space they could make that claim. i thought they already did find water on the moon recently though |

We are about to blow a crater in the moon.... TOO SEE IF THERE IS WATER THERE??? Our tax dollars at work.... knowledge and discovery is never a waste in my opinion |

Some of us like this planet!
We need to find ways to improve how we take care of the planet we live on and the people who live here who are suffering from diseases that should have long since had a cure, homelessness and folks just getting by, and that's just the tip of the iceberg of the issues that need our immediate attention above and beyond lookin' to see if there's another planet we can screw up. |

I wonder.....
and no not really into conspiracy theories...just factual ones... The Asteroid Apophis is going to enter our orbit in 2029...for a first fly by....it won't hit...however...it will be scooting close enough to fly under our satellite orbit zones. However....in 2036 it is due back for a second pass.... and that one is the one that causes consternation, as it is possible the earth's magnetic field may alter it's orbit, on it's first swipe. If that ends up being the case....and contact with earth is made.... possible outcomes are a nuclear winter...an almost dinosaur extinction type thing... best have some of the human gene pool off the planet by then, to be able to ensure the continuation of the species. http://neo.jpl.nasa.gov/apophis/ Of course we only know what we need to know, (the ole need to know basis) and the initial projections for potential impact with Earth, was found to be incorrect....discovered by a 13 year old in Europe doing a school project science thingo... the original calculations were 1 in 45 000...( I think) and he showed how far out Nasa's scientists were...the figures were actually 1 in 450... bit of a difference wouldn't you say? |

Its a fraction of the cost of the original moon landings. It is of vital importance to locate water in space. I dont think some of you understand just how valuable of a discovery that would be. This would be one of the great discoveries of all history. It is our ticket off this planet |

There are valuable natural resources in space that would improve life here on Earth. Resources we are running out of down here. But there is an infinite supply of these untouched resources in space. And this planet would not have the problems with diseases, homelessness, and economies if we had other worlds to live on No more competition for vital resources

Ok, then answer this..
There is no gravity on the moon..if water even exists..what difference does it make? so is the next project to eliminate anti gravity? Oh give me a break... |

It is our ticket off this planet I don't want a ticket off this planet and most of us living now will most likely never realize the possibility of living on another. If we don't improve how we take care of our planet and it's residents, we'll just make the same mistakes all over again. |
