Miss Cancer, I agree with you. The sexual aspect of any relationship
should be in private only, and between 2 consenting adults. Anyone who flaunts their sexuality is just trying to get attention. Its clear that they have some issues with the whole thing. I am a nurse, and work with many male nurses who are gay. There are those who you cant really tell they are gay until you get to know them. There are those who are obviously effeminate, but who never flaunt there sexual orientation. They are kind of like, just one of the girls. They are sensitive, intelligent and fit in, just like everyone else. Then there are those who openly flaunt their sexual preference. They make everyone uncomfortable with their words and actions. These gays, I could do without. I believe that these people have a mental illness for one reason or another, and I worry about them. Most of these nurses are on antidepressants and any number of other mood altering medications. They have trouble sleeping and struggle socially most of the time outside of their gay circle of friends. I try to get along with everyone. Sometimes it is hard to not be judgemental. I do think that lesbians have it easier than gay men. Lesbian relationships tend to be more socially acceptable. I remember a lesbian couple who were neighbors of my parents when I was a young girl. Everyone knew what they were. They didnt flaunt it. They just lived peacefully as a couple in their house, just like everyone else. They wore mens clothing and had short haircuts. They went fishing a lot. They each worked a job, did their own car and home maintenance and were active in the community. Normal loving relationships are a good thing, no matter what your sexual orientation is. I know that the Bible says something about same sex activity not being acceptable, but God created all of us and loves us unconditionally. I believe that people who are homophobic, think that all gays want to have sex with "them" They need to understand that they may not be attractive to gays, just as, not all heterosexuals are attracted to all other heterosexuals, just because theyre heterosexual. So you naughty old Homophobics out there, you can unclamp your butt cheeks and relax! They dont want you anyway. |

What I had an issue with is the guys name Party_Fag. doesn'that sound
derogatory. I thought he was some gamer or someone going to cause trouble. I would have thought he would choose a name that was not flamitory towards gays in general. If a black guy choosed a name using the N word. Would that be appropriate? |

I watched a documtary on homophobes. It's been proven in studies that
when men whom are extremely homophobic are hooked up to sensors and shown pornographic material containing gay sex, they become sexually aroused. The more homophobic they are, the more sexually aroused they become. Think about this guys this is fact. As far as the name party_fag Recon, most gays or lesbians I have known and do know, my hairdresser is gay...joke about it. Maybe they make light of it because others are so uptight! J |

Nothing wrong with party_fag... especially since he's gay.
Gay, straight, whatever... I think it all doesn't matter. Just be who you are.. .it's a shame there are people who are so scared of it that they lash out in anger or violence... |

I totally agree Vanchau, and for those who act out in violence against
homosexuality are the ones who have the problem!! J |

I love gay men as they make great friends and I never ever have to worry
about having sex with them even if I wanted to. |

I was good friends with 2 gay men who were not seeing each other(they happen to be first cousins sharing a house though). One of them asked me one time if he could give me head after I knew him about a month. I said HELL NO. He never mentioned it again and never came onto me in any way after that. My opinion on the marriage issue is simple. I think all "marriages" that are done outside the church need to be called legal unions. Marriage has more to do with religion and needs to be kept seperate. I do think gays/lesbians need the legal benifits of marriage but leave marriage for a man and a woman. So I am for homosexuals getting legal unions and against homosexual marriages. BTW the reason my ex left was because she choose to be with a woman over me and the kids. I have spent plenty of time with lesbians and gays. |

If I was black and decided to Call my self N(word) Nasi. That would be OK with you? |

You raise a good point J..I think most, if not all serious homophobes
are like that cuz they're afraid they're gay too and don't want others to know it..hence the "macho" attitude they have towards gay ppl...Bobcat Goldthwait said it brilliantly about ppl that beat gay ppl...."I'm punchin yer face in cuz I'd really like to fuck you in the ass" |

I neither agree or disagree, its one's personal choice. I have had many
homosexual friends, both male and female, however I myself am not gay. Once my friends knew that I was straight things were great, I was only asked once if I might be interested, no one got grabby or ignorant, just a question which I answered and we were friends ever since. And let me tell you, I LOVE to go shopping with a gay male, OMG it is an experience, it is even better than going shopping with your best female friend that you have been friends with since childhood. |

when someone uses a derogatory term against theirselves it is not
considered the same thing recon. alot of black people use the word but it ain't alright for me to use it, same as for gay people. when they use it theirselves sometimes it becomes so mainstream that it loses the power that a biggot needs it for. i don't think too many people here would object if you left your kitty pic up and changed your name to little furry pussy lol |

Thats nothing public. I read that mothers are responsible to guys being
guy. It has something to do with the XX and XY chomosone. The arrangement of a mother's genes could affect the sexual orientation of her son, according to a new study. The finding, detailed in the February issue of the journal Human Genetics, adds fuel to the decade-long debate about whether so-called "gay genes" might exist. The finding, detailed in the February issue of the journal Human Genetics, adds fuel to the decade-long debate about whether so-called "gay genes" might exist. The researchers examined a phenomenon called "X chromosome inactivation" in 97 mothers of gay sons and 103 mothers whose sons were not gay. X and Y Chromosomes are large thread-like molecules that contain an organism's genetic instructions. Humans have 23 chromosome pairs. The X chromosome is one of two sex chromosomes in mammals; the other is the Y chromosome. Females have two X chromosomes and no Y's, while males have one X and one Y. Even though women have two X chromosomes, only one is functional because the other is inactivated through a process called "methylation." "It gets wrapped up in a ball and is not used with the exception of a few genes," explained study leader Sven Bocklandt of the University of California, Los Angeles. If one of the females' X chromosomes is not turned off, then there is too much genetic material, which can lead to a harmful overabundance of proteins. Down syndrome, for example, results from the presence of an extra copy of chromosome 21. Big difference Normally, X chromosome inactivation occurs at random: half of the cells in a woman's body will have one X chromosome inactivated, while the other half inactivates the other chromosome. However, when the researchers in the current study examined cells from the 42 mothers who had at least two gay sons, they found that about a quarter of the women in this group showed something different. "Every single cell that we looked at in these women inactivated the same X chromosome," Bocklandt told LiveScience. "That's highly unusual." In contrast, only 4 percent of mothers with no gay sons and 13 percent of those with just one gay son showed this type of extreme skewing. Bocklandt thinks this suggest that a mother's X chromosomes partly influences whether her son is gay or not. "We think that there are one or more genes on the X chromosome that have an effect on the sexual orientation of the sons of these mothers, as well as an effect on the cells we were looking at," Bocklandt said. Other chromosomes implicated Bocklandt was also involved in an earlier study that looked at the entire human genome of men who had two or more gay brothers. The researchers found identical stretches of DNA on three chromosomes—7, 8 and 10—that were shared by about 60 percent of the gay brothers in the study. That study also found mothers to have an unusually large role in their son's sexual orientation: the region on chromosome 10 correlated with homosexuality only if it was inherited from the mother. The results from these two studies suggest that there are multiple genetic factors involved in determining a person's sexual orientation and that it might vary depending on the person. "We think that there are going to be some gay men who are X chromosome gay men and some who are chromosome 7 gay men or chromosome 10 gay men or some combination," Bocklandt said in a telephone interview. Most researchers now think that there is no single gay gene that controls whether a person is homosexual or not. Rather, it's the influence of multiple genes, combined with environmental influences, which ultimately determine whether a person is gay. A touchy subject Research into the genetics of sexual orientation is controversial. Religious leaders who believe that sexual orientation is a choice argue that such research is an attempt to legitimize homosexuality; others worry that a detailed knowledge of the genetics underlying homosexuality will open the door to genetic engineering that prevents it. But Bocklandt doesn't think these concerns should prevent scientists from asking the basic question of whether homosexuality has an underlying genetic component to it or not. "I have no doubt that at some point we'll be able to manipulate all sorts of aspects of our personality and physical appearance," Bocklandt said. "I think if there's ever a time when we can make these changes for sexual orientation, then we will also be able to do it for intelligence or musical skills or certain physical characteristics—but whether or not these things are allowed to happen is something that society as a whole has to decide. It's not a scientific question." |
