I was in bed with my bf at the time..He got up, turned on the tv..I showered and was getting ready for work..I sat down to watch the news with him for a bit and it was on every channel. That is all anyone could talk about at work for awhile

I was at work and they didn't even send us home. We were all in shock.

I had the day off from work cause I was in the process of movin from one apartment into another. While unloadin the truck the guy I was datin at the time came over an told me what happened. I didn't believe him. The cable wasn't on yet so I had no way to check to see if he was messin with me. Then when I went back to the old apartment for another load I saw all the lines at the gas stations an knew something was wrong. Went to my Dad's an watched the news.

Went back to work the next day in shock. I was told by some coworkers that some of the Arab workers actually cheered when they played the radio report over the intercom system. They were quickly escorted out of the plant from what I was told. I think I was in more shock over them cheerin bout the deaths of thousands rather than the planes hittin the buildings.

10th grade, English class. Someone heard about it, told some teachers and they started getting the t.vs out. We spent two hours that day locked in the same room because the school was put on lockdown. Everyone was crying and in disbelief. Parents were calling their kids cell phones and vice versa.

i was getting ready to leave for work...thinking mostly of getting to little rock in time for my shift. i was listening to the news when it was announced, and i went into...a little trance. staring...watching the bodies fall over and over...(before they removed that little clip).

it took forever to get gas...

the rest of the day was quite surreal.

So two pages of everybody just going about their normal morning routines and WHAM. Everything changed. Must be a lesson in there some where.

I was visiting family in Michigan. One of my cousins called right after the first plane hit and told us to turn on the TV. We all just stood there in shock. We were due to fly home to CA 3 days later and we weren't sure we were going to get home, but they had just started flying again that morning. There were many people sitting around the airport that had been waiting for days to get home. It was a moment I will NEVER forget.

I visited Shanksville PA, where Flight 93 went down when I was up there visiting my best friend that lives about half an hour away. Very quiet place...peaceful. It's just a field surrounded by trees. You go up and over this hill and it's back there on the downside. You can't go down to the actual crash area due to a chainlink fence that surrounds it. The families feel it's their loved ones final resting place, so only they can go down there. But the memorials left up on the hill were very moving.

I'd just gotten up and turned on the TV. Peter Jennings was on, which he never was that early in the day. The first plane had hit. When second one hit, of course we all knew it was no accident. I watched TV like most of us the next few days. I didn't get scared until they hit the Pentagon. That was when I thought that they could be Anywhere. I watched the Towers fall and didn't cry a tear. It was about a week and a half later that it finally hit me.

How did you all hear? Were any of you flying at the time?

I was ditching school per usual, just woke up...clicked on TV as the second plane went into the building. No tears, no shock, nothing. Should have seen it coming, did see it coming, didn't do anything. Government failed on an epic level and people just let it happen more or less. Still to this day Bush has not stood trial for that mistake...

I had a delayed reaction on the tears thing. I did go from 0-60 on the P.O'd meter rather quickly!

I was at work and my mother called just as the 2nd tower was being hit - I was in disbelief. I was pregnant at the time and thought 'what kind of world am I bringing this child into'. We watched tv's most of the rest of the day at the office and I was pretty glued to them at home for a few days as well.

I hope this is not distasteful...or inappropriate, and I am not going to minimise the unneccessary and tragic loss of life on your Sept 11th 2001...

Are you aware how many people lost their lives through that terrible act of terrorism?

Are you also aware of how many have lost their lives through the retaliation?

All of it is so very very sad.....enough death....enough killing....enough...enough... enough.. brokenheart

i was at school. When it was time for my french class, the teacher came in and told us about some plane crash in america that happened... but being about 12-13 at the time, considering that plane crashes happen a lot anyway, and being more concerned about the fact that i hated french at the time... i didn't really think much of it at that moment.

when i got home however, normal programming was interrupted and local tv and radio stations were consumed with news about what happened... it was then i realized this was a big deal. i thought some huge world war was about to happen noway
