been thinkin about gettin a digital camera but I know nothing about them..what would a good starter be for a guy with not a whole lot of money? Well, think about the features you want. Many cameras now days offer a TON, including video. So write down what you would like - here's some examples to include: 1. video 2. Pre-sets (landscapes, portraits, manual) 3. Jpeg and Raw file format 4. Underwater pictures etc, etc....Then once you figure out the features, start looking at different ones. Such as Kodak, Nikon, Camera...the Canon Powershots are great cameras as well as the Nikon Coolpix- easy to use and great quality. My first camera was an older Kodak easy shoot 3.1mp digital camera, my second was a Nikon D50 DSLR and my current one is the Canon Digital Rebel Xti DSLR - at some point i'd love to upgrade to the Canon 5D Mark II. I'm more of a DSLR person. lol I also have a digital rebel. While I'd love to upgrade, it will have to do for now. I'd definitely recommend a canon, though. I've been using Canon since 2006, they've truly grown on me. I've used the 20D, 30D and the 5D, which I fell in love with, lol - So, I also recommend a Canon! ![]() |

absolutely! This is the GATE. I took this picture back in AZ at a friends house as the sun went down. ![]() I like the composition here. Also the deep colors and the Vignetting around the image, even with the noise, it still looks very interesting. ![]() |

most definitely....and it does.....actual purple-violet skies some nights..... i've never seen skies like that, and wouldn't have believed it if i hadn't seen for myself. really honestly ...purple....with a white skyline....surreal.
i think it's because of the special humidity, and the way the city is lit....don't know for sure, but very....umm different.....yeah. i wanted to give you a compliment on the black and white as well, and ask if you took it, and what do you look for when you take your pics as far as artificial lighting..... couldn't e-mail ya though in other words, what did you do to make the lighting happen for that certain pic...i love it! and want to do some of that style... |

Due to the Humidity, pollution and the lights, they basically reflect and retract against the sky creating different colors, the haze can really either ruin the sky or make it jump. I see that often here in Utah. Black and white? |
