Sometimes my computer does not start and I get a message : number/number machine components .
What is supposed to mean ?.

Sounds like it may be a registry problem? Can you give more detail?

Do you have hardware that might be failing? EI: Motherboard, Video Card, Chip processor..?

If it was the registry in your computer most likely that would be completely screwed up and you'd have to do a reformat or a checkdisk or an OS repair...hardware that is slowly failing can also give errors but its not as constant.

You can try doing a computer reset to see if that might fix any corruption within the hardware to the software -

Take out the small battery located on the motherboard (while your computer is turned off and cables are removed) let it sit for a few minutes and then put the battery back in, replace cables and turn on the computer. If that doesn't work - just run your computer for a bit and check for over heating, go into your bios - see what your fans are running at and make sure all the fans are working.

Also boot into safe mode and do a virus scan, just to be sure there's nothing there!

But a little more information might be handy...We can help you search it out.

I'm assuming that with that error you're running Vista? It sounds like your computer may have installed a service pack and something went wrong or that you have viruses or spyware. You probably need to bring it to a shop to get it fixed unless you're computer savvy.

Without more information it is hard to say but if your screen is blue it what we called the Blue Screen od Death and it usually means that one of your hardware is malfunctionning and that usually is between the Memory sticks (a broken stick will give you beeps at the Bios Post checks but s defective one will start the computer but fail once window loads) or your processors that is overheating (Dust, Fan not working properly, Paste dried up ect). When the BSoD appears it is windows that shuts down the PC so not to damage your computer (mmmm thats windows for you).

If it is not that screen that appears but another one we would need more information like.

OS (Operating System)
Motherboard
Processor
Memory (How many sticks you have)
and also Some of the information you get on that message screen

post the error code if u get it again.

What is your operating system? winxp or vista? You said "sometimes". So when it does start, are there any error codes in windows at start?

I think it is a storage capacity so how do I increase the storage capacity ?. What should I add as a software or a hardware ?. Thanks folks .

Your hard drive is getting filled up. Either delete stuff off or add another empty hard drive if you don't wish to delete anything. Even if you add though, you might be running low on extra disk space, which will reduce the performance of your PC all around.

you gotta make more space on your hard drive, clean it up and then defragment it.

If you don't know how to do any of these, I suggest get someone who could do it for you.

You need a minimum of 5% (strick minimum but not the best) of free space on your HD capacity but best if you have 10% and even 15% to be at its best for Windows to be able to swap your data without crashing.

If you hard drive is almost full right now adding an extra one won't fix the problem unless you move a lot of data from your C:\ to your new drive until you have at least 10% free.

Do regular defrags if you want windows and your hard drive to work better depending on your usage (always new data, adding stuff deleting it often or just browsing) you should at least do it once a month to every couple of days.

Don't forget that when you install new programs thay will always go by default on C:\ so if you free up a minimum of space make sure any new data goes to your new HD and not C:\ or you'll have the same problem again soon.

Another solution is to install a new HD and transfer your swap file to this new drive instead of having it on C:\.

quick fix for no space left is empty recycle bin then right click on recycle bin/properties
and lower it from 10% to 1 %

if u have a 300gb hard drive its keeping 30gb just for the bin
but as said best to keep 15% free
it wont defrag with any less

also check your docs and setting temp folder delete everything
that gets way chock full after years of non emptying

I found the problem : when I see this problem I just keep on pressing " enter " and the comp starts . It seems that the comp is having some configurations updates .

correct, we need more info to troubleshoot this issue for you.

actually you can defrag a machine with less then 1% of free system space, but in order to do this you would need to use the command prompt by using Defrag c: -b -f
then by using Defrag c: -f

or you can use a defrag program like the Pagefrag from sysinternals.

I would suggest running a check disk

start the machine, either normally, or into safe mode..

Click on start
Click on Run
Type in CMD
press OK

In the Black Dos box, where the cursor is flashing,
Type in Chkdsk c: /f

you will get something that looks like the info,

HERE-
C:\WINDOWS>chkdsk c: /f
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

Type in Y and reboot.. a check disk will tell you if the issue is due to hardware, or maybe a bad sector...
Also if this is a dell, on system boot during post, where the dell splash screen is, you can hit the F12 key during boot, this will bring you into a diagnostic test which will take sometime to run, but will tell you what the issue is, if it is hardware...

Please post the results of both chkdsk and the diagnostic..

NOTE: memory issues may be the result of a variety of things,
Specific Error codes are very helpful,
along with the type of machine, manufacturer, and operating system you are running.
