I know troops have been coming home for good here in Colorado Springs, it makes the news when they come in and they are alive to boot.

Funny how they make a big deal out of bringing home a unit...

and yet at the same time another unit is leaving for the zone with little or no fanfare.

and the end result is...

Only the people change...

the same number soldiers are still in the hot zone.

For every one brought back dead, another takes his place.
Same for those who come back alive.
The promise was, total withdrawal, as in end the occupation.

And the time it would take to do this as stated was???? Almost two years if memory serves me right. Have two years gone by yet?

IRAQ: US soldiers kill Iraqi civilian

The US soldiers have killed an Iraqi civilian after they stormed his home in the eastern province of Diyala, an Iraqi official has said.

The owner of the house was shot dead and one of his children was injured, when the US soldiers broke into the house in the Mullah Huwaish village, Emirates news agency reported on Saturday.

The injured person was then arrested under the pretext that he is wanted by the judicial authorities.

The incident comes a week after American troops shot dead three children in northern Iraq, according to the Iraq News Agency (Al-dar al-Araqiya).

The children — all under twelve — were killed while they were shepherding in the northern Iraqi town of al-Tarmia on 16 Aug 2009, the report added.

The reported attacks on the Iraqi civilians by the US soldiers comes as the US troops were ordered to withdraw from Iraqi cities and towns on June 30.

According to a security agreement between Baghdad and Washington, the US troops need a permission from the Iraqi government to carry out any military operation in the Iraqi cities and towns.

The US military has not yet released any statement on both incidents.

Sucks that Obama inherited Bush's ******** war and he's taking all the blame for it. All the crap in this country was started under a republican president, so I don't hold it against the current president who is trying to stop it. Republicans scare me. A lot.

How is he trying to stop it?
He sends more troops and has no plan to withdraw.
He is as guilty as Bush.

He already is trying to shut down Gitmo. He can't possibly have un-done the war in the few months he's been in office. It's a big mess that will take time to clean up. The McCain ticket wanted to keep the war going altogether and didn't even pretend they wanted to end it. So I'll hang out a bit and see what Obama does.

Then, I'll keep you up to date on the BHO body count.
Don't hold your breath about Gitmo closing until the new detainee facilities are completed in Afghanastan.
