The deceiving message from Washington is that the troops will be withdrawn from Iraq BUT nothing is said about the permanent military bases and the very huge Embassy staying there for ever !!!. Ah !.......in politics the masses are the last to know uncle's Sam plans.....  .
No matter what country we occupy, we will always be stationed there. Japan, Korea, Iran, Germany, etc. We just aren't in full force. Obama is withdrawing troops from Iraq, but the downside is that those who have already done a tour are usually the ones getting re-shipped to battle zones such as afghanistan. This is because they are already fimiliar with combat scenarios and the lifestyle you have to adapt to while you are over seas. So he is coming true to his word. |

He already is trying to shut down Gitmo. He can't possibly have un-done the war in the few months he's been in office. It's a big mess that will take time to clean up. The McCain ticket wanted to keep the war going altogether and didn't even pretend they wanted to end it. So I'll hang out a bit and see what Obama does.

And why does there even have to be sides anyway, isn't this a human issue.. aren't we all wanting the same end result here? Maybe not, maybe for some the fighting is more exciting... that would be a shame. |
