It true Christ said the Holy Spirit only comes to a believer.

So then you must think Peter was lying.

For did not God promise to pour out his Spirit upon all flesh?

Not just upon those saved but on all of us.

The gate has been opened and the Holy Spirit has flooded the earth. We
all have it within us.

Yet as they were mocked so do you mock me shutting the door in my face
and saying I can not enter for I have not upheld the letter of it even
as I uphold the spirit of it.

AdventureBegins,

I'll answer, but you will call me a liar.

You are talking about Acts 2:17, which is a quote of Joel 2:28. "all
flesh" means Jews and Gentiles, instead of just Jews. It's not saying
"Everyone". Everyone to have received the Holy Spirit in the Old
Testament was Abraham or one of his decendants. Joel was saying that
God's Holy Spirit would be poured out on both Jew and Gentile, not just
on Jews and certainly not on everyone.

Gentile;

Wikipieda;
Most commonly, a gentile refers to any person who is not Jewish, or who
is not a follower of the Jewish faith.

Catholic Encylopedia; Gentile
A word of Latin origin and usually employed in the plural. In the
English versions of both Testaments it collectively designates the
nations distinct from the Jewish people. The basis of this distinction
is that, as descendants of Abraham, the Jews considered themselves, and
were in fact, before the coming of Christ, the chosen people of God. As
the non-Jewish nations did not worship the true God and generally
indulged in immoral practices, the term Gôyîm "Gentiles" has often times
in the Sacred Writings, in the Talmud, etc., a disparaging meaning.
Since the spread of Christianity, the word Gentiles designates, in
theological parlance, those who are neither Jews nor Christians.

International Standard Bible Encylopedia; Gentile (Goy)
Goy (or Goi) is rendered "Gentiles" in the King James Version in some 30
passages, but much more frequently "heathen," and oftener still,
"nation," which latter is the usual rendering in the Revised Version
(British and American), but it, is commonly used for a non-Israelitish
people, and thus corresponds to the meaning of Gentiles."

Any one that is not Hebrew is a gentile.

AdventureBegins,

It isn't talking about "all people", it's stating that no person will be
excluded from receiving the Holy Spirit. So anyone who is SAVED can
receive the Holy Spirit, not just Jews. To be saved you must submit
yourself to Jesus.

It does not say All flesh that has accepted the Annointed One (Jesus).
It says 'all flesh' (every one) where then do you get 'only those who
accept Christ can receive the Holy Spirit'.

A gentile is anyone who is not a jew or a christian according to every
encylopedia I researched.

Grace is infinite.

Grace means so much more than the limits you place upon it when you link
it to Law and not to Spirit. Grace encompases the entire human race in
all its many differences.

AdventureBegins,

How do you rectify your understanding of Grace with the following verse?

Matthew 7:21-23
--------------------------------------------------------------
Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of
heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will
enter. Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy
in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform
many miracles?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you;
DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'

I do the will of the Father.

I do not prophesy in the Name of Christ. I do not cast out demons, nor
do I perform miracles in Jesus name.

Interesting that a man who posted an entire thread about the Law vs
Grace trying in vain to prove that Grace was greater then the law would
then prove himself wrong by quoting 'Depart from me, you who practice
lawlessness'

This then is the difference between knowing the Sprit of the Word and
knowing but the word. Knowing but the letters of the word leads you
away from the Word within the Word.

Grace grants us forgivness from the punishment of law but not the right
to be lawless. We still must strive.

AdventureBegins,

Grace is only granted to those who are saved. How do you get saved?
Turn to Acts 2 and read what Peter said on the subject.

I read it. You quoted it. It says as I have spoken.

So I will ask you to read of the Spirit of Truth.

That He has given eternal life to as many as God has given him.

I will try and find where it states that there is only a certain number
that will follow Jesus to heaven. I know it says somewhere that many
will be left begging for forgiveness and mercy. I could very well be one
of them. Everyone will not be heaven bound.

Sorry. The numbers I saw were from the Jehovas belief. I knew I had seen
it somewhere.
I also had seen where the muslims or someone believe that 6,000,000 will
not go to heaven.
I will shut up on the numbers now, I am sorry. Until I find something
otherwise.

There are also numbers in the Old Testement.

The 144,000 comes to mind.

this number does not indicate an exact figure but stands for a
completion (or fufillment) of prophesy. Check the Hebrew it will
explain it.

"Or would you just see another person that was in your way on your way
to
the top?"

to the top of what? worldly posetions? beautiful women? material?

If God passed me by id try to be the next apostle and i would probably
get killed by the government or outcasted by the general population-
God is disapearing slowly
People are out saying support our troops and God bless our soldiers but
our soldiers are a product of man made government...filled to the brim
with political deception and a depth of evil unconvcievable to the
untrained eye....Jesus had the jews turn on him in isreal the people
spit on his face and people were afraid to support him like weak sheep
they are..But Jesus never condoned war though...Isreal, the country who
hated him the most...he loved the most...Now thats power in
effect...Take a good look around and see how many people support the war
and become afraid of this growing pack of lost sheep following the
machine following because its safe and everyone else conforms this
way...these days it takes balls to talk about Jesus in a crowd...no 1 is
down ne more
  i wrote this peice 4 all people..even haters

You can read about the 144,000 in Revelation 7, but they are not the
only ones who will be saved.

Revelation 7:9
------------------------------------------------------------
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one
could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues,
standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes,
and palm branches were in their hands;
------------------------------------------------------------

Revelation 7:14
------------------------------------------------------------
I said to him, "My lord, you know." And he said to me, "These are the
ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their
robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
------------------------------------------------------------

Remember 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.
