Why be with someone, you can't trust?

For me it would depend on why I don't trust them, if it was something they did like cheating or something then I would probably leave and go else where but if I had no reason not to trust them I would give it time and see if it changed and try to work on it.

for me, trust is a two way street...
initially, I am trusting until proven wrong, however - the other person must show that they are trustworthy (it the truest sense)... that being said, if I did not trust them, I would not associate with them in anything other than a very superficial manner... if I were already involved with them, and they broke my trust, I would pull away... |

Trust is built with another over time...experiences and memories that strengthen your relationship and build a sense of belief in each other. When the trust is fractured, then you have to decide whether that relationship is worth rebuilding based on those prior experiences and not necessarily one isolated incident.

If you don't trust someone,do you leave them and find someone else,or work on your own trust issues? it depends how much i like them. most likely, i'd just keep them at arm's length and enjoy whatever it is we offer each other, while at the same time maintain an emotional distance. |

I will never understand why people are with someone they can't trust. It makes no sense to me. Especially when they know what their gut tells them and they ignore it. It is a set up for more pain.
