Topic: The 2nd amendment right to bear arms... | |
---|---|
Jasmine babe, I honestly wouldn't worry too much about America picking up guns and shooting at every government official they see. I honestly can't see that happening that anytime soon. Then again, I wasn't able to see April 26 1992 happen, and I was alive and in that area when it did happen.
I am starting to realize I am simply running myself in circles tonight, please excuse my posts while I get myself dizzier with my random thoughts. |

What do you think of Americans Jasmine?Do we frighten you? being in antarctica she has little to fear from americans the u s govt maybe but not americans JasmineInglewood "Not looking to date anyone..." 20 year old woman from :p, Enderby Land Enderby Land region, Antarctica Main region of Antarctica, bordering on the Indian Ocean and extending from Prince Olav Coast of Queen Maud Land (west) to Edward VIII Bay and Kemp Coast (east). Primarily a barren, ice-capped plateau in the interior sections, it rises to rugged peaks along the coast, where the Napier Mountains exceed 7,400 feet (2,260 m). The English navigator John Biscoe, sailing for Enderby Brothers, a London whaling firm, discovered the coast in 1831 and named it for his employers. Enderby Land, claimed by Australia, is the site of a research station opened by the Soviet Union in 1963. |

What do you think of Americans Jasmine?Do we frighten you? well, no. i guess i don't live there so i have nothing to be afraid of just trying to wrap my head around this issue because i was on huffingtonpost this morning and i was watching a clip where some guy was openly carrying a gun to an event with president obama. chris matthews was interviewing the guy about why he did that, and he cited his constitutional right to bear arms as his reason. it was this guy's view that all americans, including everyone in that crowd, should be allowed to carry a gun. which i thought was crazy... especially with how there's a concerted effort by the opposing political faction (whether it be democrats or republicans) to paint whomever is in office as a "threat" to america... it just got me thinking i guess... |

In some places the gun, specifically heritage rifles, are the trappings of family history. There's an ethical responsibility element that's passed down from generation to generation much like family swords.
The point is not the use of it, it's the respect and care that's required to own one. That's what Thomas Jefferson told his nephew, that guns taught ethics and discipline better than ballgames. In places where it's taboo or against the law, they're made or stolen and by people who haven't earned the right. Why? Because, like drugs, the cool factor outweighs rationalization. That's my opinion anyway. |

that was just an example adventurebegins. i'm not saying that many people have a problem with it today... at least i hope not. but the idea that every american should carry a gun in order to be able to resort to brute force if their government does something they do not like concerns me... Our government has embarked upon (for many years) infringements... When you have 90% of the people saying no and you do it anyway(bailouts)... (and our congress and senate know this to be a true statement). You have usurped the right of the people to govern. Right now we have more than 60% of the people saying NO and that is nearly a 2/3rd majority. and yet they are proceeding to usurp our right to govern. Taking upon themselves the mantle of lords... this is an insult to the very foundations of my country. One which has raised my voice and that of many others. |

even if you don't anymore... it'd still be nice to know what your forefathers were thinking They were thinking Indians and bandits and British why is it still part of your constitution today then? Just in case the government might decide to become bigger than the people... Or set themselves up to make god like decisions... instead of as the government of a nation UNDER god. |
