Guess he might not be wanting to actually hear anything many of us have to say...

I got a call asking me if I wanted to participate... I listened long enough to realize he was NOT going to let someone with my views say a word. (or who ever was screening the lines).

anybody out there have simular experiance?

Its ok that I did speak... I plan on voting in a replacement as soon as it comes up time. I figured out during the bailouts that he wasn't listening.

I've never heard of a phone town hall meeting before.

How does one get the whole town in a phone call?

I wonder if the dear congressman realizes he will only get the calls his screener deems to be 'PC'.

Or perhaps he does know cause he set it up that way.

How To Write Your Reptilian Congress Person

Many people believe that some of our highest political offices, here and abroad, are controlled by a race of interdimensional aliens. Reptilians, as they are called by those in the know, can shape shift into human form to dupe the voting masses. These aliens are not the same as the Greys who travel in UFOs. If you believe your congress person is a Reptilian, and you have an issue you would like to bring to his or her attention, here are some tips for writing an effective letter.

Step 1

Introduce yourself in a way that shows you and your family are sympathetic to reptiles. Mention that your son is studying to be a herpetologist, that your daughter volunteers at the reptile zoo, or that you are morally opposed to snake skin accessories.

Step 2

Describe the issue you are supporting/opposing and include several concrete examples of how this will be an improvement/detriment to your community. The more detailed and thorough your letter, the more convincing it will be.

Step 3

Don't type in all caps or use vulgar language. Check your spelling and punctuation carefully.

Step 4


Don't include clip art of outer space, UFOs, or aliens with big eyes. Reptilians come from another dimension, and the Greys (big-eyed aliens)are a race of aliens controlled by the Reptilians. To indicate that you believe otherwise will make you come off as ignorant. Don't include dried insects either; for security reasons your congress person cannot eat any food that comes through the mail.

Step 5

Sign and date you letter and put it in an envelope with the correct address and postage. Congratulate yourself for participating in democracy.

It would appear to me that is the reason for the PHONE version of a 'town hall'.

But it's ok... He lost credibility with me during the bailout.

He campaigned on a 'I am driving the country to listen to each of you'...

and now he has proven that to be quite false...

NO car came from my phone... Nor did one pull up in front of my house... Instead I got a call so I could listen to HIM...

and what I did listen to sounded like a list of political statements that I am hearing from comercials and such...

I AM TIRED OF BEING TREATED LIKE I AM STUPID.

But WE did elect them.

Perhaps we need to show them the respect they have shown us...

Well considering that none of them can get a word in edgewise lately with people screaming and yelling and not letting them speak they have little choice.

Politicians can listen to you all they want, that doesn't mean they are going to adopt your particular stance once confronted with reality. So if they don't adopt your stance then all of a sudden they are not listening? If the crowd doesn't let them speak how can they address their questions, and how can they express their own views?

The crowd DID let them speak... Right up to the point that it was obvious they were speaking party talk and not FACTS... Laughter was the first response...

So then... My 'stance' is not reality... But theirs is?

Obama supporters are "awakening". People are seeing the false promises of our President. People are seeing the same hole our politicians have been digging forever.

Bout 3 years and those that bought the cash for clunkers will realize they excanged a vehicle that was payed for...

and now have payments that they can't keep up with...

Just like the housing thing.

Bout 2 years and the tax code will be 'modified' so those april refunds will be smaller or non-existant... Or the check you send to the fed will be much bigger.

We have an unstainable corporation called the Government... Which has the power to squeeze us to continue bloating its own self.

How about just plain old common sense. If you want people to listen, you have to be able to listen as well.

Been listening for years.

Tired of not being heard...

Tired of listening to skewed data and outright lies.

Tired of listening to someone TELL me what I need.

Tired of being taken for granted.

Tired of politicans that feel they are greater than the whole of this nation.

What I saw as far as those 'angry' responses... Our politicians underestimated us... They thought they had us fooled and were shocked at the INFORMED people in those crowds.

and I noticed that those people did not start out yelling... That started when their comments were SHOUTED down by the very politician that is now saying they are 'unruly'.

I agree that we should be calm about telling them how we feel.

Problem with calm is the politicians don't seem to listen to calm.

Unless you got a fistfull of money.

It doesn't matter what my congressman does, he's a 1 and done democrat.
