Topic: Almost Honest | |
---|---|
I have been having conversations lately about honesty.
How hard is it to say to someone, I am not interested in being in a relationship with you... I just want to hang out... have sex with you... whatever. And let the other person make a decision as to whether they want to be a part of it. Instead those that don't speak honestly, lead other on for their own personal needs or wants. I personally am tired of seeking relationship with individuals that can't be honest and try to justify it. What are your thoughts? Are individuals incapable of being honest? Are all individuals not being honest just jerks? What are your thoughts? Here is a lyric that kind of speaks to this: Almost Honest - Josh Kelley So in the meantime You'll be resting on my mind For the last time I will leave myself behind In the evening Raise a glass and tell some lies Make a pass, impress another girl She's easy on the eyes She was easy And so was I My reflection In the window when I ride for Chicago She is on the other side Take a picture Write a letter to my love Well I was almost honest I was almost honest Been a long time Since I lay with you in bed Conversations, full of words you never said I got your message But I didn't hear the ringing bell I gave into the loneliness But I didn't give them nothing else Which direction Down this highway that I ride to Atlanta She is on the other side Take a picture Write a letter to my love I was almost honest Well, I was almost honest My reflection In the window when I ride Could not save us But I swear to God I tried Take a picture Write a letter to my love I was almost honest But I was almost honest Cause I was almost honest |

Hey sunshine - loaded question but here's my view.
some of us are brutally honest without being hurtful to others some people hear what they want to hear not what is being said so many different types of people out there, you just never know what type you will meet. Stay positive and always be true to yourself. |

Stay positive and always be true to yourself. Always am. I guess I just have to find another 'brutally honest' person like myself, huh? [oh and wasn't trying to make it a loaded question. it just has been something floating around lately and figured I would get mingler's opinions] |

While there are others that if they don't agree refuse to accept it, chose not to accept it, chose not to deal with it, find other causes to find fault with it, etc. |

No one else wants to wage in....
How about this... have you ever met someone liked them, but didn't like them enough to be serious. But you didn't make that clear and still slept with them. Did you feel bad afterwards? Or did you chalk it up to being just part of life? Or justify that you just gave into loneliness? Or have you had it happen to you? |

I am one of those people that is so honest I'm blunt and to the point and can at times hurt someone's feelings because of it. But I'd rather someone be the same with me rather than feed me a bunch of bull. What gets me is when you are honest and they get mad about it!

[oh and wasn't trying to make it a loaded question. it just has been something floating around lately and figured I would get mingler's opinions]Yes, it does seem that alot of men are not honest when it comes to a relationship and that sex is definatley thier objective. The reason that they appear to lie is that they want the sex without the attachments and work this involeved in maintain a healthy relationship. So, it is much easier to get what you want from lieing to you that, Oh I love you ect. and you are the greatest thing that ever happened ect....oh, I want to marry you but I am not ready and the list goes on an on....mean while you are gettig strung out and lead on the believe that everything will work out...and the truth is he is probably already planning his next conquest. These actions are childish and teenager like...I am sure somewhere out there you find a man who is true to his heart and will be true to you as well..be safe and good luck out there |

But to be dishonest is simple? I'd say yes, honesty and dishonesty is simple enough. says a lot about a persons character which one they chose but yes I believe they are both simple enough. |

I am the same way, but have learned who to be hard line honest with and others to soften it (not lie, but just don't tell it straight out to them) My friend Jeff called me last night because I will tell him how it is... now if he wants to be lied to or sugar-coated he will not always call me. |

Here is another theory I have....
(and I know its one-sided, don't jump on me, it could go both ways!] If a guy would just be up front to whether he was just looking for a roll in the sack or something more.... there would still be women willing to just have the roll in the sack. And it would spare hurting those that aren't. |
