would not care it is are right.i use to have to strap a 9 mm in la for 10 years to live.now i only have them to shoot birds and deer.if more people had them the crime rate would be less. Oh my! You wore a strap-on to a date? Kinky! |

Is that a GUN in your pocket or are you just happy to see me??
Actually.... here in N.Y. It would'nt be to much of a surprise. I personally would be uncomfortable with it and don't think I would want to continue dating unless we talk about it clearly. |

I think it's something that should have come up before the date. Just state it up front that you are a person who carries a weapon and a brief explanation. I don't think that is something that someone should be surprised with.

I'd be afraid to hug him and the thing go off and kill me. If it's in a holster, it would be more likely to shoot him in the foot if it went off...lmao |

I went on many dates with my pistol tucked in the small of my back when I was a cop, and always let the lady know that I had it, and how to grab it if we needed it drawn. There's a difference between being prepared and stupid.
I worked Corrections at Cook County Jail for nine long years. In that time, we processed through almost 1,000,000 people. Yep, that's a million. I cannot go to any event in Chicago without looking over my shoulder all day long for someone I knew when they were locked up. And being an EX-cop.. I cannot carry any firearm, so I'm always walking around empty handed, or with a glass bottle in my hand. I have run into 3 or 4 former inmates since I quit that job, and had no incidents. But.. You never know.. |

I'd want to know why he felt the need to be armed on a first date

It would be odd and I'd wonder why he felt the need to bring a gun on a date.

How would I act?
(really really fast bear tracks) |

This is an open question for all to answer I would like it if we could stay on topic though. I would like to know the typical reaction of finding out on a first or initial date that your date was armed. And was not a member of law enforcement or security. Maybe you discovered it during the act of hugging them or something. I grew up around people with guns. Every 3rd vehicle on the road was a pickup and every other one had a gun rack and guns in it. But it is a bit more difficult to hide a rifle or shotgun under one's jacket when on a date. |

It would definitely alarm me, red flags all over the place! Did this happen, did you question him, more red flags cause he'd be prepared with answers...I say first and last date. RUN! I agree. It happened to me before - 30 years ago. We were in the car and he had me get something out of the glove compartment. The gun was there. I felt sick to my stomach. |

Been around guns all my life, first husband was a police chief and then sheriff, have a stepson and nephews in the police business.. I would ask why he is carrying it ...
