I live in town no bears will get you here
Hey now. I don't carry one....lol No bears around here either. But there are lots of them a little further North. There are also a few Mountain Lions out and about in some of the Northern parts of the state. Snarky asked ( kinda ) if people actually hunt with handguns. I simply told her that people do. So the argument that handguns are only made to kill people no longer holds as true as it once may have. 
True matter of fact watched a show the other night was talking about in a certain area most carried a hand gun due to the bear attacks and or wild cats. They will kill just like a rifle will just shorter distance. |

At a point in the past I carried concealed. I was not law inforcement. Private Security. Individual kind. When we had a client we went into a 24 hour ready state. Had to carry. However I would also have NOT set up a date during that time soooo... I reckon this is off topic. 
Actually your very much on topic and also made my point very well. Even you agreed that you more or less would not have carried a weapon on a date. Even though you carried one due to your profession in the past. Even most Police Officers that I have known never carried one if they were not on duty. Besides that most Restaurants it is against the law to carry a weapon that is concealed. 
Would depend on what part of town we went for the date... Knowing a bit about the type of people one can sometimes run into. I agree with a previous poster ... Females are the foundation of our species... I will protect one I think its necessary. If she wants to take in a venue that might have 'wolves' in it... I will be ready. But in a safe area... Heck no. |

Hummm I have done my homework and they are not only females that were serial killers that used guns. Matter of fact David Berkowitz better known as Son of Sam used a gun to kill his victims. His killing spree lasted from 1976-1977 till he was caught. As well as Randall Woodfield that in fact did use a gun as well as a knife in his murder spree he went on in 1979. Women serial killers and medical killers in general use poisons. |

Honestly if the area of town that I lived in and where I went on dates was that bad I would be carrying a gun myself. Therefore it would be normal for anyone to carry. But when you live in and a area where it is not normal to carry a weapon then you should think twice if your date does in fact carry one. Specially if he has no reason that he may need one as far as I'm concerned unless it is part of your job you don't need to carry one 24/7 at least not where I live.

A gun is not needed to commit crimes, 2. most crimes, Including most rapes are done without a gun. 3. In almost all cases, the only persons that needs to fear a legally carrying gun owner are the criminals. 4. almost all crimes that are carried out with the use of a gun, is done by someone NOT LEGALLY CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON, In fact usually with a gun that is nor legal or registered as well. |

But...............now I will have to admit that only like 9% of violent crimes are committed using firearms when it comes to rapes and violent crimes. But it is not unheard of but then again even those that do use them as far as rape and sexual assaults most the time do not use them to kill their victims either. I can see your point that if one is carrying a weapon they have their own reasons and 99% of the time it would not have anything to do with criminal intent.

And of the crimes done with guns.. almost none of these guns are registered to the person using it and the person using the gun does NOT have a permit to carry. The illegal guns are the ones that need to be taken off of the streets. I think it should be an automatic 10 years in prison if someone is in possession of an Illegal gun!! But I will carry gun when I feel it is needed, I will not be attacked in the dark again. |

Oh I'm sure some of them were really stand up guys who went in and got their gun permits and showed ID and everything, LOL There ya go!!!!! If I do decide to carry a gun on a date. I will just hang my Legal permit on my lapel!!!
