right!
and of course we realize and embrace the facts that it is not so black and white and it will always have the other dynamics that develope culture and politics.... what we want to achieve is seriously...a type of TIME OUT. to rethink and evaluate and make healthier choices....but that's like trying to pull a dog off a ***** in heat... so while humanity grapples with itself all we can do is damage control. i am so confident in the tenacity of human beings...i know i am idealistic. but i do see the fruit of my labour in my world. here's a little homework i give some patients........ take 1 loose elastic band and put it on your wrist ........every time you feel the energy of complaint stop yourself and look at what you do have....the abundance. make an action to be of service in some small way...even if it is just helping someone carry their shopping to the car...........oh i forgot you don't do that there....too risky ..ok well what ever you can do ...just do something but when you feel like complaining you have to switch the elastic to the other wrist...keep a running tab of how many times you had to switch the elastic. this goes on for 21 days lol the object is to find ways to rearrange how we perceive things....it's interesting and revealing...and it even makes you laugh!!! |

What ever it is we are striving for, we have to find it in our hearts
first. There are not too many to try to go that way, and I think women, being mothers are better at it than any man can be, for the simple reason that we carry these children within us for 9 month, care for them before they are even born. So I wonder, if it were the men giving birth to children, would that change anything???????? |
|
|
|
i am sure it would....lol
gonna take some serious genetic engineering eh?!!! |

I'm generally pretty open to new ideas but I'll pass on giving birth
thanks. |

Well, it was a train of thought that came to mind reading through all
these posts. If men were in charge of the children, would they let them go as easily as they do now? If they had the same feelings for them as women have? And would that change the outlook of women, too? There are so many possibilities if you let your mind wander freely, it was only one of them. |

It's morning here, Fred, the sun is shining, there are a few tiny
showers in between. I have been out already, watching soldiers with guns protecting a money transport to a bank. They were merely children, and these guns looked huge on them. I tried to imagine how it would look like if these guns turned into flowers. |

Andrea...I am not sure in your part of the world, but here, there is a
trend towards more active parenting by fathers.. There are many 'stay at home' fathers who are the primary carers/nurturers for their children. It may be small in comparison to 'traditional' roles...but there is a slight shift. Also more fathers raisng children as sole parents... When this all gets added to the soup...when we look at these changes to 'traditional' family structures... I have to wonder still, if the changes are already occuring within society...to a very different structure, as to how societies were, even thirty years ago.. I look at Matriarchal, as an opposite to what we have had as a structure, to see how it would be different, when applied to now... And then add in other thoughts...somewhere, somehow, there is an evolution...however small it may seem for now... I want to expand on it...to see...what society may look like...without the luxury of a TIME OUT. |

Unfortunately, after women have been the stay at homes for so long, the
trend, due to economy, is that both parents are working. There isn't that much time for children anymore, they get packed off to a creche or a daycare mother, or when they are older, they just become keychildren. As it still all is a bit old fashioned, because the Catholic Church was the main ruler for so long, the trend is still that children belong to the mother after a divorce. Fathers who want to be responsible are having a hard time, fighting in courts even for the right to see their children on a regular base. And there are not too many trying either. This is to blame on antiquated laws, still based on Catholic laws, from a time when the parish priest had the right even to decide whether you could have sex or not, and that within a marriage. For us this is hard to fathom, and the political parties are making only slow progress. And then here is another thing. Ireland has been under British rule for 800 years, there have been risings every so often, it has become part of life here, the glorification of those who fought for freedom, and the right to bear arms has been a sore point for ages. I could go on and on, but it would take a long time to get to the roots, analyze, and then find a solution. |
