I generally ask this question when I get an inital email from a guy.
Do you ever ask this? What kind of responses do you get? What do you say when asked the question? I generally say... You seem cool and I 'liked' or 'found interesting' this <something specific about their profile>. |

Most of the time, first emails I get say why they emailed me. So no, I don't ask. Though, when they tell me they emailed me because they liked my profile, I usually ask what they liked about it.

If someone asked me why I emailed them I would find that very rude.
 and I wouldnt respond at all.....Are you getting many responses from that question?

Still tanya.....I think if I was guy and you asked me that question I would bolt. For some people on here, that first email is a big one. To question it......I find a bit forward, jmo.

I generally ask this question when I get an inital email from a guy. Do you ever ask this? What kind of responses do you get? They pretty much make it clear right from Word One about why it is they e-mailed me: "You're wrong about everything, and even though I know nothing about you, I felt it was important that I let you know you're wrong about everything and then complain about it for seven more paragraphs. So you'll know you're wrong about everything." What do you say when asked the question? I generally say... You seem cool and I 'liked' or 'found interesting' this <something specific about their profile>. Since I never e-mail anybody first, that issue never comes up! |

I don't many e-mails from anyone so I can't really give any proper response. I've gotten maybe 4 replies out of 200+ sent so I can't be writing anything too good either. |

I've never asked that, I don't think. I didn't ask things like what are you looking for, where do you want this to go, etc from just an email or two, or ten. I guess I always figured if the relationship takes off, those kinds of things come up soon anyway.
