movie you have ever seen? I would have to say it was "Fur" which starred Robert Downey Jr. and Nicole Kidman. It was sooo weird that I knew I should stop watching it but it's like watching a train wreck.. you just gotta keep watching to see what happens! Of course after it was over I was kicking myself for wasting nearly 2 hours of my life on something so stupid...

Dog Star Man. I was bored one day and sat in on a friend's film class. We're pretty much both of the agreement that even at 45 minutes, its the most difficult movie to sit through made. |

Eraserhead-I watched it a couple times, written and directed by David Lynch. In the end he has a mutant child of some sort. I think it came out in the late 70's.

Can't narrow it down to one, because I think they are equally "weird"-
David Lynch's Eraserhead, probably the first weird movie I experienced. Jodorowsky's The Holy Mountain, and El Topo 964 Pinocchio- if you ever wanted to see a movie where Pinocchio is a lobotomized cyborg sex slave, then this is it. Vase de noces- A man and his pig have mutant piglets together. Neco z Alenky (aka Alice)- Very surreal retelling of Alice in Wonderland Tetsuo, the Iron Man- a man slowly turns to metal. |

i have 2.
very very surreal movies 1) children of men - its a weird indie movie and the premise is based around humanity's inability to reproduce. people have split themselves into groups and are fighting each other to find the only pregnant woman in the world, but no one knows where she is, so both groups fight and search franticly to find her. and eventually the protagonist finds here... blah blah blah, ive ruined enough of the movie already. very surreal. very indie. very cool... if you have any friends that listen to deathcab or the decemberists, im sure they will be able to tell you all about it. 2) i cant remember the name of it, but its a strange movie depicting and satirizing bureaucracies. the protagonist gets a desk job in this massive building and is jammed into this tiny office where he has to share a desk and everything. he ends up getting killed in the end because he eventually begins resisting the bureaucracy. wish i had a title for you. its a foreign film though, and not exactly recent. c) barton fink - classic cohen brothers. a writer gets a new apartment next to john goodman who plays a character that depicts (and supposedly is) lucifer. strange and dark movie. excellent. a must watch in my book. |
