Bless all those that serve everywhere.
My son Jay "Sgt Wagner" is in Iraq as we type. I talk to him a lot via skype. He tells me we are not as calm as we all would like to think. He worried me when he told me there has been an incident almost daily. Lives have been lost in his unit recently and bombs still being set off. Roadside things happen a lot. And...there is a roadside bomb they have that our armour can't handle. It is heat activated. Pray our fellas can come up with a solution to protect themselves. We still need to keep prayers and thoughts for them. It isn't as good as I wanted to hear. THANK YOU ALL WHO PUT YOUR LIVES IN DANGER DAILY.Come home soon, safe. I would also like to say to all those that serve, have served, and will serve..."thank you" thank you for your bravery and willingness to be there when it counts. My heart and the hearts of millions are with you in your fine journey of courage and discipline. Kat |

Kat Hi there Dear Sister Lady Kat thank you so much for being here and for adding to these posts I can think of no other topic that is more important for a thread than to have ongoing prayers & blessings sent for our Brave Military ! My heart & prayers are with you & your Son and all our Troops that are in harm's way Unless we hear about it firsthand, we have little idea of the horrors they have to endure and even then , it is nothing like being there and going through that living hell : this is for all the Mothers of Sons and Daughters in the Military and for Parents & Spouses of Military Personnel |

He has told me time and time again...if you want to know the truth about what is going on don't listen to the media ask someone that is there, or has been. He has been over there for four months so far and has sent 15 bodies home. The last one was on Father's Day. The man's wife was on the plane with him. He said it never gets easier. I hate that this is his job, but at least I know these men and women are being handled with the care and respect that they deserve, because my son would have it NO other way. If you ever want to talk with another "military mom" please feel free to contact me. And please tell you son "thank you" for me and God Bless you both!! Journey |

Oh my Dear Sister Brenda You are a precious angel flying so close to the ground with both of your Sons & your Daughter in Law in harm's way and you never get bitter and you never get mad If it were not for the awesome people like you whom i have had the Great Honor & Privilege of getting to know and for hearing & reading the stories of all those who have gone before us my Family members & loved ones giving their all for something much bigger than themselves I may not have had inspiration enough to step up to the plate in love & gratitude like i do |

Why is it that my eyes tear up every time I visit one of your threads like this one, Nessa? My nose is starting to run, and it's really hard to type through the drops falling onto my glasses as I look down onto my keyboard.
I want to send out props to a longtime rl buddy of mine. He's the Father of a member here, manofmysteries, who himself, is like a Brother to me. Dave was 27, a college graduate, married, with one child on the way ( manofmysteries) when he ENLISTED to go to Viet Nam. He went through the same training as the 18 and 19 year olds went through, and although he did not excel at anything, he graduated, and earned the Priviledge to serve America. He served in an artillery unit as a Gunner once he went over there. He is one of the kindest, most intelligent, and patriotic people it has ever been this former GIs Honor to know. Dave B. of Tinley Park, Illinois. Member of VFW Post #2791(as I am also). It has been an Honor knowing you, and with the Lord's blessings, I will know you for a long time to come. I love you as a Father figure, a Brother in Arms, a Friend without ANY reservations. |

I will keep that in mind. Mine is also my youngest and last, I hope to go. He began telling me the truths of the still war in Iraq...I guess after he decided I could handle it. I am wuus about my kids and harms way. I am a viewer of George Stephanopolas?? on Sunday morning..on OETA (public television) where every week they say and show the names, ranks and the country in which they died and where they are from. Every single week there are names there. We do not hear about it as we should. The injured are many...but we also do not hear about them. Yes, I live in fear but have begun to breathe a little easier. He has til December to come home. I miss him so. I just sent him two boxes of goodies and things he may need or just some trivial things. Momma things, you know? lol I salute all mothers and of course the family members of all our military, but mostly the mothers...our hearts are in another country, where we can not save them or take it away. Bless your son...and his mother... Kat |
