Because as much as it can hurt it also can give so much joy that it is worth it.

I keep thinking "The next time has GOT to be better," but it never is.

False hope.

Because we keep hoping it will change or they will change and by some miracle, which only happens in the movies, they will see we are THE ONE for them and start appreciating us.

Because some people think if they try hard enough they can make the fantasy reality. It never works, but those people will twist their minds into believing that it did work.

Because of human nature...who REALLY wants to end up alone? Do you like sleeping alone? Eatting alone? Spending nights and days alone? Or do you crave companionship? To have someone there who loves and respects you?
And because I really really deep down inside still WANT the happily ever after thing

I don't know why you lot all do that, I'm just fine alone...a lot happier as well, figured after about the fourth or fifth time I didn't like the pain...so I quit with it all. Kind of funny, cause you will always have someone say "no one wants to be alone" or something along those lines, and here I am, perfectly fine and happy alone.

But if they love and respect you, it wouldn't hurt.

It is not human nature. Human nature is geared towards survival, love and relationships neither guarantee that nor make it any easier...if we were tuned towards human nature, you lot would be a lot like me and not care that you're single.

You ALWAYS hurt the ones you love the most. That is reality. The best relationships have their moments when things go to **** and you fight and argue and wonder why you're there. Then, you either choose to remember or you don't. You either choose to make it work, or you don't.
People give up too easy anymore. Problems arise and they run instead of standing their ground and fighting for their loved one. Both sexes are guilty of it.

FearandLoathing, if you're happy single, more power to ya! I really wish you the best and hope you stay happy :) I was simply asking questions O.o Do you see yourself still single in 10 years? 20 years? I don't want to be, but that's me :)
