TXSgal...unfortunatley..this is kinda staying on topic.I have dated outside my race many times and have been confronted with this type of stereotyping!So the question goes deeper than just...would you date a black woman...the question is also are you willing to be starred at,ridiculed or even have your motives questioned by strangers or even family members.
this is a very good topic and it is actually achieving what it would be like to date outside your race! So a "Yes or "No"answer is fine...but there is much more to the reality of it! |

Oh, my moms sneers at me for dating outside my race, she makes slighted statements toward my boyfriends race like that just typical for the race Im dating when he does something I dont like, ,and no matter how I feel about it, makes racist remarks about people outside her race, even though it grosses me out when she does.
She forbids me to date someone black for sure. Im really not interested in her opinion, even though I never have. |

The issues that you have brought to the the situation are things that each would have to deal with that is no doubt in my mind. Those same things would be issues regardless any time when you make that choice to be in and interracial relationships. But to make this thread turn into attacking each for there opinion is far past the issue in hand. As well as bringing up the raciest remarks that I as well went through and deleted within this thread. Therefore to talk about the different issues that would arise due to interracial relationships is what the OP is asking as well and those comments are welcomed. |

What are your opinions on interracial dating? For some reason, I am really attracted to guys outside my race. I am a Nigerian American female, and my experience has been the majority of guys who have shown interest in me are black. I have nothing against black males, I respect them and I have great friendships with many of them, but I just see them as brothers. My dilema is, most of the guys I am attracted to are white. Many black guys don't understand that, I guess can't help who I am attracted to. My question is for the white males. Are you ever attracted to black women? Would you be open to dating them? If so, what could she do to make you feel comfortable enough to ask her out? Race and color are irrelevant to me. People are people no matter what race or color. |

I live in a big interracial family-- parents of two different races, an adopted sibling of another race and I wouldnt change the diversity in my family for the world. I'm sure we get stares in public places...haha. I tend to be attracted to people who seem different than me too, racially or culturally. so, you are not alone and there is nothing wrong with that. Maybe it is an opposite's attract kinda thing.
