Topic: what do you think?? | |
---|---|
Oh please, who cares who marries whom? Does it affect you directly? No. Then why get your tightywhiteys in a knot over it. You'd think there are more important things this world needs to concern itself over than somebody's personal and private life. No one gets involved in your love life, so why involve yourself in someone else's? Sheesh. |

I think in any "Free Country", you should have the same rights and freedoms as anyone else. Here in Canada for example, say two "loving people" have been together for many years, should they not have the same rights as any other loving couple? Should they not have the same benefits as any other married couple, say like dental care or perscriptions? Personally, it kinda creeps me out but hey to each their own, eh?

I (and I assume the rest of us here) are talking about two free and legal adults. So, let's resist the urge to take the conversation into the realm of the idiotic. |

from a strictly legal point of view (and American)
the Constitution says that anything not forbidden or commanded by the US Constitution is up to the states to decide. And marriage in any form isn't mentioned in the Constitution. So it's up to the states (as it should be) and then I would think up to the individual communities but you just can't force people to believe in something |

I've always said that no one should be forced to accept or condone a gay lifestyle, providing that they are at least tolerant of individual human beings. I don't think a church should be forced to marry same sexes, since it is against its beliefs. However, I do think it's something that the government should allow and recognize. |

Pets have human names? SAY IT ISN'T SO! Yea, but when the law comes in a takes their 177 cats away and condemns the building, its still amusing. |

I know 2 hetero couple that have been together for years and are not married. It's called common law marriage. That should be good enough for anybody as signing that piece of paper causes problems.
