Of course there are days where you can't ignore the "idiocy"- but forums have TOS (Terms Of Service) that have to be obeyed. And what happened in that problem thread is exactly why there's a TOS in force here.

Those instigators shoulda read up on the TOS before they posted what they did. Perhaps they woulda known better than to post in the first place.

There are tons of threads that violate the rules that STAY up on a daily basis because they are humorous as well... it's always they serious ones that get the boot.

That's why it's posted as a "sticky" (a post that stays at the top of the a forum)- so you CAN read it. It's not that long, either- just about a page's worth of stuff.

It essentially spells out what you CAN and CANNOT do when in the forums. And -as I copied here a page or two ago- the first two rules are

- don't make disparaging comments about persons/people/groups
- don't make inflammatory posts about persons/people/groups

Consider the TOS to be a kind of constitution of sorts, only a wee bit more easy.
