We have NO right to interfere in their practicesIts not our place to be concerned about what their women do.Its none of our business. We need to be caring about American women.Thats our businessThats what I care about. blah lee. but we do care about treatment of gitmo prisoners. makes no sense if ya think about it hmmm technically speaking gitmo is not in the US. I guess possible (probable)threats to american security are more important than islamic women and their young girls. |

If you look back throughout history women have been demonized from being the bad influence that caused the downfall of man in the bible from Genesis throughout. A women is considered out of control of herself at most times and man has to control her. These traditional views have caused witch burning and sadly genitalia mutilation. A woman in the throes of passion is a powerfully moving thing for men and out of fear they try to eliminate it. Powerful words. However... that last part.... If I have been lucky enough to do the right things to get a woman into (or to be with a woman when she is in) the "throes of passion" which I believe is about the most wonderful thing in the world, why on earth would I or any man want stop it or prevent it from happening? It would appear that a lot of this mutilation is done solely by the older women due to "tradition" and the men have little to do with it. Women have been led to believe what men have taught them disguised with reverence for a belief. They do it out of tradition but the beginning of the tradition came from the fear in man over the power of women. A woman has been assigned the control of a man's genitalia for a long time in history. If sex happens and it should not have, the man is never blamed, after all, he is just being a man. Women were assigned the job of saying no. If you have a heathen woman who enjoys sex, will she say no? These "traditions" have spread all over the world. There are some small societies where this is not the case but they are off the beaten path. |

All that may have been true in the past but the here and now situation is that you are every much as educated and capable of rational thought as me or any other man. I frankly don't care how the traditions of genital mutilation got started. I think the girls need some help. |

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, using figures from the 1990 Census, has estimated that 168,000 girls and women in the U.S. had undergone the procedure or were at risk of being subjected to it. Since 2001, the State Department estimates that up to 130 million women worldwide had undergone circumcision. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/11/01/national/main2143496.shtml It's becoming our problem now. |
