It's how it's been on here Tom.. I'm not sure why it's changed soooooo much it bites and the thing is the mods are cool people.. I guess the rules are just they way they are and they have to go by them...

Hey Kaymo long time...

Looks like ol' Kaymo just deactivated... again.

But yeah- it would appear that they're being a wee bit too draconian with the bannings and the censorship lately. I mean... I can understand if some dolt out there put up a pic of his johnson, as that's just wrong... but if all the interesting bits are all covered up, then there's really nothing to complain about, is there?

It's all just these wet-blankets who gotta get their panties in a bunch because they saw a superfluous third nipple or something.

And Shooter's right with regard to the TOS (terms of service)- part of the problem is that it's rather vague as to what can and can't be put up or said here.

As a result, almost anything can be left to interpretation on the part of the Mods and Admins, which will often result in the wrong people getting slapped while the REAL troublemakers go about their lives unabated.

Consider the TOS kind of like a site's constitution- it has to be VERY specific, right down to what actions have to be taken when someone decides to be naughty in a most non-Prncs kind of way. It has to be the end-all-and-end-all de facto document to refer to when it comes to any dealings in a site and its forums.

Take it from a dude who moderates at no less than THREE digital art sites, all with forums- if the TOS isn't specific, you'll start losing membership due to heavy-handed (and misguided) mods/admins and pissed-off members who've had it with being picked on unfairly.

But yeah- there's also been a kind of "holier than thou" mentality goin' on with stuff as well. This is something I was told by the Admins of one of the sites I Mod at a while back- you're not there to be better than the membership... you're there to make [the membership's] lives a little more tolerable in the forums.

The minute you start taking action because YOU don't like things (instead of an actual violation of TOS), you end up being no better than those you're presiding over.
