Debbiejo the infraction that came before the Hendricks fender problem
was a DEI penalty for using the wrong brackets to hold on the rear wing
in the new style Car of tomorrow. They were penalized the same as
Hendricks this week. The DEI brackets were an old set that had been used
before and actually made it through the first inspection for that
weekends race. A Nascar offiscial noticed that they were the old style
bracket and said that they don't meet the new specs. I truly feel that
it was an honest mistake. Tony Eury Sr. (who is Jr's cousin and crew
chief)has a near spotless record that shows that he does not try
cheating. The Hendricks crew chief on the other hand has been caught
several times cheating knew what he was doing when he modified those
fenders.

fanta..Kyle is really a good driver but he is still a little wet behind
the ears and he will eventually mature and become a champion. The talent
is there! I don't like his brother either because of his arrogance.
Hopefully Kyle is learning from his brothers mistakes.drinker

I saw today that Nascar does not allow anyone to sell car numbers. They
are all assigned by Nascar to the teams. Theonly way Jr. can get the #8
is if Teresa gives it back to Nascar and then Nascar can re-assign the
number to whomever they please! If all partys cooperate it could be done
but it won't be done without Nascar calling the shots!!drinker

Yep, I saw that about the #8 too. I also saw Budweiser isnt going with
him. His sponsor will most likely be Sony!
Got the wrong Eury for Jr's crew chief, I believe it is Tony Eury Jr.

His daddy Tony Eury Sr. is the director of competition at DEI!

I have it right...The directot of competition at DEI has changed!!! Tony Senior is running JR Motorsports now.!!drinker

Jr. is looking to land Sony but they have many sponsors. I believe Bud still has a contract thru 2008

Lakeman...I realize it probably was an honest mistake..but like I said...just seemed a little coincidental to me! It sure would be nice if Jr could keep the #8..but I know Teresa has control over it..and keeping Budweiser as a sponsor would be great too..but with changing teams...might as well face all the other changes to come! Will take some getting used to...but neither the #, nor the sponsor has little to do with a drivers' capability as a racer...so whatever decisions are made...Jr's still gonna be on top next year!!

and Fanta...I know the last infractions were on the Hendrick team...I was merely asking a question of Lakeman..concerning the one on DEI...

DebbieJo...The human factor of making decisions on penalties will always be questioned with Nascar. The inspection staff probably did not notice the older style bracket at first because they are so similar to the new ones. The only difference could have been a slightly different angle that it could be adjusted to. There very well could have been an official that looked a litle harder to find a problem because of the change or someone else told the official about the brackets after recognizing them as being the wrong ones. We will never know.
I am with you on the changes. I don't care what number or colors jr. ends up with. I am just excited for him and the fact that Tony Sr. has jumped ship to join Jr's organization shows the loyalty and friendship that Jr. had with his old crew. I would not be surprised to see the rest of the crew to eventually going overboard also. Jr. has a big future now and his boys will join him in his venture! If I was Jr. I would give them all a big fat raise in salary and throw the biggest party possible for them to celebrate the birth of a new legacy!!

The sponsor contracts are signed with Hendricks, and they say can not be broken. I was also reading that about Eury Sr,. but he has not been Jr's crew chief for quite some time. He has been Menards crew chief, and His son, Dales cousin Tony jr. has been dale jr. crew chief except when Dale fired him for awhile. Why was he fired, another attempt to put the blame of not winning on someone else.
When JR started with DEI and his daddy was alive, he cried because Dale #3 made Michael Waltrip his #1 driver. He transfered Eury senior from his Busch Team to satisify him. Jr won his first 15 races with Tony sr. as his crew chief. when he moved up to director and Tony jr became crew chief after Dale Sr. died Jrs. wins slowed and he started crying again!
What will he cry about and blame it on next?
The #3 belongs to RCR, it has not been retired and RCR has the right to put anyone he wishes into a #3 car. Dale Jr. has no control over this, so dont fool your self. He has nothing to do with the #3 not being on a car. All that credit belongs to Richard Childress, and noone else.
You give Jr. the credit of not wanting to live up to his daddy's legacy, but that doesnt stop him from wanting the #8, which he wants because it belonged to his Granddaddy Ralph Earnhart. So whats up with that!
I hope Threasa gives Kerry the chance to drive. He has sat in the background for way too long and is a good driver in his own right. And has never cried about it!
Either way,
New rules for the chase give 10 bonus pts for every win, Gordon has 4, Johnson has 4, Truex-2, Stewart-2, Harvick-2, Kenseth-1, burton-1, Edwards-1, kyle Busch-1, Bowyer-0, Hamlin-0, Dale Jr. has 0.!
If the chase started tommorrow with 12 drivers, it would look like this:
Gordon-5090
Johnson-5070
Kennseth-5050
Stewart-5045
Burton-5045
Hamlin-5045
Harvic-5035
Edwards-5030
Truex-5020
Busch(Kyle)-5015
Bowyer-5010
Dale, Jr.-4995

Everyone in the Earnhart family are not traitors. Kerry is still there and here is there future:

Jeffrey Earnhardt (born June 22, 1989 in Mooresville, North Carolina) is the eldest grandson of the late seven time NASCAR Winston Cup champion Dale Earnhardt. He is the son of former NASCAR driver Kerry Earnhardt. Jeffrey was signed in 2007 to drive for Dale Earnhardt Incorporated (DEI) in the Busch East Racing Series.

"Signing with DEI is a dream come true," Earnhardt said.

"In his young career to date, Jeffrey has displayed many of the attributes we are looking for in a driver," DEI owner Teresa Earnhardt said in a statement. "Experience will be key to developing and preparing Jeffrey to progress to and compete at higher levels."

Jeffrey Earnhardt, 17, turned heads at the General Motors Developmental Program last year.

"Signing with DEI is a dream come true," Earnhardt said. "To progress as a driver at the premier organization that Dale and Teresa built means a lot to me. I know I'll be surrounded with the right equipment to take me to the next level, so now it's up to me to prove myself."

Fanta you say.. Dales cousin Tony jr. has been dale jr. crew chief except when Dale fired him for awhile. Why was he fired, another attempt to put the blame of not winning on someone else.
Tony Jr. was re-assigned(not fired) because they both were fighting like cats and dogs about the right direction to go concerning everything from car set-up to race strategies. TERESA is the one that changed the teams around to cool things down. She didn't realize the damage that she was doing till the race wins went completely away. Waltrips team did not have the same equipment as Jr's old team and Jr. claimed that the new team was not nearly as knowledgeable as the Eury team. Jr. was maturing and found that the Eury's were worth a lot and cooled it from then on with them and eventually got them back as a team. Lots of growing pains!
You said..When JR started with DEI and his daddy was alive, he cried because Dale #3 made Michael Waltrip his #1 driver.
This proves my point exactly! Thank YOU! Jr. was wanting a crew that would give him the driveable car that he needed to do the job and win races. Tony Sr. is the ROCK that he needs to insure that the crews continue feeding him with the best race cars money can buy. Tony Sr. has the brains...Now he has the money and support through the Hendricks organization!

You said....The #3 belongs to RCR, it has not been retired and RCR has the right to put anyone he wishes into a #3 car. Dale Jr. has no control over this, so dont fool your self. He has nothing to do with the #3 not being on a car. All that credit belongs to Richard Childress, and noone else.
I don't know what the argument is here. I have been talking about the #8...not the #3. Jr. wants NOTHING to do with the #3. He said he would be too uncomfortable with that number. His father built a great legacy around that number. He does not want the pressure of keeping it up there.

You Said...You give Jr. the credit of not wanting to live up to his daddy's legacy, but that doesn't stop him from wanting the #8, which he wants because it belonged to his Granddaddy Ralph Earnhart. So whats up with that!

Grandaddy never won 7 championships and so forth. Jr. has already been using this number because Sr. put him into it. Jr. has made the #8 more valueable in his own name than in his grandfather's name.
Any more questions just forward them to...

You are new to NASCAR I can tell. Ralph Earnhart was a great driver. If not for his legacy Dale Sr would never have been in the Sport.
Dale Jr did pick the #8, and he did so because it belonged to his Granddaddy!
At the end of next season when Dale Jr. is just another face in the crowd, ranked fourth of all Hen****s drivers and asking to be released from his contract, and Truex is winning the Championship!

I never said he wasn't a great driver. these are different circumstances and you are just being an ass.laugh bigsmile

The facts remain that it's Jr's life and he wanted to advance! He was smackin' his head against the roof with the witch and she would not take the lid off the kettle. If he has jumped out of the kettle into the fire it is his own doing.A good racer is not a WUSSY that never takes a chance. Jr. IS a great racer and he has taken this chance to be great instead of mediocre for the rest of his life. I guess you would have been happier to see him rot in the witch's brew! CUDOS toJR. for being a man and saying SCREW YOU WITCH and finding his own way. DEI is no longer an Earnhart organization as far as I am concerned. It is falling apart and the best personnel is running as fast as their legs will carry them!! Call 1-800-EATMYDUST for further information.

I would have been happier to see him be a man and make it at DEI with hard work and a backbone anytime rather than join hendricks! I could have forgiven him had he went to RCR, but Richard probably saw his manuever for what it is and was ashamed!
Tony Stewart, his friend even said he cant see it working out at Hendricks for Dale jr..
Wow it just dawned on me how much he probably hates being called jr.. That means he must live up to something he cant possibly live up to.
What if his name was John Jordan or something? would he have the fan base he enjoys? What a cop out saying, I want to be my own driver and not live in my fathers shadow!
Too late, change your name Dale Earnhart Jr.!!!!!laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

That's you. That's what YOU would have done. Sorry ...this world does not revolve around your butt. You are living in your own little FANTAsy world and I am sorry that the glass slipper has not fit in your happily ever after mind. You are not and will not ever be placed into his shoes! We shall see how many thousands of people disagree with you at Daytona. We shall see how many new t-shirts will be sold with his new number on it. We shall see how many races he wins. We shall see how long it takes the witch to jump into her own cauldron. There will be some fans that jump into the fire. So be it. The soup is cooked and Jr. is sitting at the head of the table enjoying his new found utensils. The sweet smell of success is at the doorstep.drinker bigsmile

Fanta, its not even worth debating with you, because all i read between the lines of your posts is (Dale Sr is the man and he could never do wrong! and Junior and Hendrick suck!) I can get no valid points from your argument, just the same old tiring "I'm right and you're wrong." I'm over it, because whatever we say goes in one of your ears and right out the other. I feel like I'm talking to a spoiled child......or a brick wall.

Boo Hoo, someone doesnt agree with you. Makes you mad, not me. laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

As far as I know Jr still owns 49% of DEI, unless he sold it! So why would he want to see them fail? The witch as you call her has a longer history in Na scar than Dale Jr. I am sure I have more than you. Your arguments dont make sense.
You just want everyone to agree with you, that Jr. made a good decision. Well not me, sorry! Theresa was loyal to Dale #3, and is loyal to his legacy and his children and his grandchildren! I know of only two that have turned on her, and they make me sick!
I liked Dale Jr., because of who he was, but he is greedy and as this shows a spoiled little boy. Nothing like his father, not as a driver, nor in spirit! He undoubtedly did keep some fans, but he has lost many more.
I wonder if Michael Waltrip will return to DEI? That will be cool! With the best engine department in Nascar, Truex, and Jeffrey coming up through the ranks, DEI has a very bright future! Crew Chiefs are made everyday, they are like drivers waiting to be discovered.

I'm with ya there about celebrating a new legacy Lakeman! Without sounding too repetitive..saying Jr did this or that wrong...or he's been living in Sr's shadow is irrelevent! The fact that he was named after his dad...not Kerry, the 1st born son...should speak for itself! It wasn't because he was to live up to his daddys' reputation...it was the fact that Dale Jr had the desire, ambition, and the talent to be successful! Bottom line...he will be proving next year..to his fans..and to the rest of the world...that he's his own man...and that he's made the necessary changes it takes...to be the winner that he is!! No need to debate about this!! drinker laugh drinker
