I have to admit...I'm not addicted to JSH, or any other site for that matter, and haven't had much time to participate and make many friends, but what time I've spent on here, I've had the privilege of meeting a ONE OF A KIND friend...one who has CHANGED MY LIFE just by being a PART OF IT, and one that I LOVE DEARLY! And even though we've been through some TOUGH TIMES...and a roller coaster of emotions..I hope we can remain close for a very long time to come! So, all in all, my experience with JSH has been VERY GOOD, because I FOUND WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!! flowerforyou

I agree that walking away might be the easiest solution to problems in a relationship, but it also depends on the extent of emotions involved, and the amount of time invested. Sometimes it's like you're damned if you stay, and damned if you walk...especially if one loves more than the other...it's a given that someone's going to get hurt either way! If one has already given up on trying to make it work, regardless how good things were going...or how much the other is committed to work things out if a problem arises...the relationship will almost surely end...and the one who truly cared enough to try and work things out is left with a broken heart...while the other has freed themselves to just move on! I prefer not to ask for advice on a relationship problem...and try to give it my all to make it work..though sometimes it's not good enough, and it fails anyway...I've listened to my heart...without the influence of others!

The one bad thing that happened this year was finding out that my lifelong g/f has MS. It's been an uphill battle, and I pray everyday that God will watch over her, and make 2008 a miracle year for her!! On a brighter note, my family's healthy and happy...and I awake each day, thankful, and with anticipation..which is a wonderful thing! But the most outstanding thing that's happened to me this year is that I learned alot about RELATIONSHIPS, LOVE, TRUTH, AND FRIENDSHIP...from the most incredible man I met on JSH! He's made such a difference in my life...and been such an inspiration...with his caring heart, devotion to family and friends, and ability to express his TRUE feelings like no other! I'm so thankful to have met someone so REAL...and even more thankful for the gift of a loving friend!! flowerforyou Cheers to a Healthy and Happy New Year!! drinker bigsmile

I think there are alot of factors to consider here. Like, how long you were together...are you sure it was "love", and not "lust"...the "reasons" for the "breakup", and why you "regret" your decison. Take your time and think things through carefully...before you ask her back...and it might depend on the circumstances of the "breakup"...whether she's willing to even take you back.

I believe some women have trouble accepting compliments, for whatever reason! And being on a dating site, some are obviously looking for a connection of some sort, and some may be desperate to the point that a simple "compliment", such as you gave, could possibly be mistaken for an obvious "interest" in them,or "flirting", rather than a friendly gesture. You aren't sending mixed signals...just sincere compliments...and if anyone is taking them out of context, and reading more into them...then that's their problem!!

Life's all about taking risks and chances! Things don't always turn out the way you want...but SOMETIMES they do...if you're willing to lay your fears aside! I say, give it a shot!..ask him if he wants to grab a bite to eat...something simple like that. Maybe he's a little shy and backwards...and he might need a little "nudge"! Go for it...and good luck!! flowerforyou drinker

Trust has to be earned between two people in a relationship. Being open and totally honest with your partner builds trust...and once that trust is built,it is of utmost importance to maintain it! Lies, doubts, and suspicions will destroy that trust, and ultimately...the relationship!!
