Let me ask a question:

Why do women wear makeup?

Some do it to change their appearance.

Others do it to enhance their natural beauty.

Others do it because they like to and it make them feel good.

Others do it, think they look better, but end up looking like a clown.

[I think I covered most of it.]

OKAY! Now we're getting somewhere! So, they do it to create an illusion of something else, is that what you're saying?

So....by definition, what is an illusion?

A sick usion?

For some women it is an illusion, for others it is NOT!

For those women, it could be because they have low self-esteem. They are from a decade where make-up was a must. Or they haven't accepted aging (which is my mother's case.)

On the other hand, there are women that do it because they like to or just to enhance natural beauty. These are the women that wear very little make-up and can't really tell if they are wearing make-up.

You're still missing the point, which is, it's something to make others perceive something is real, when in fact, it is not! No matter how you slice it or try to justify it, it's still a fabrication.

Well, at least that's more honest of an answer than what's already been said, Lisa.

If you wear jeans and t-shirt all the time, but go out to the bar with dress slacks and a button-down shirt... wouldn't that be a fabrication too?

Let's see....

Women wear makeup to make themselves appear prettier than they really are. Women wear high heeled shoes to make themselves appear taller than they really are. Women wear push-up bras to make their tits appear bigger than they really are.

But they want an "honest man".

Ironic, ain't it?

Men have never worn platformed or lifts in there shoes or dark colors for a slimming affect, hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Just remember who is that invented all these items for women, hmmmmmmmmmmmm, men

Ironic, ain't it??rofl rofl

You really cannot compare the lengths many women will go to enhance their appearance as opposed to most men. There are exceptions since there are very few absolutes. However, a guy like me on an average work day will take whatever clothes are on top in the drawer and first in the closet. If it is cold I might go for something a bit warmer. I'm not worrying about makeup or color coordinating or whatever. The only things I worry about are comfort and hygiene.

When I'm going on a date I'll take extra time to choose my clothes and put on some cologne. That is the extent of my additional preparation.

I've lived with three women and they all took MUCH MORE care, thought, and time with the external trappings of their appearance. The last one usually took a minimum of an hour and a half in the bathroom to pronounce herself ready to let the world see her.

So please don't compare...

Btw, men did not invent ALL THOSE ITEMS.

Most were invented by men how long do you think these things have been around since before Queen Elizabeth, I would say, when women were not the owners nor the inventors of these things. Men were the tailors and seamstresses, cobble makers, tanners, etc. Men wanted there women in corsets to slim them.

Nope, because I don't hang out at bars. As far as shirts go, there was a guy who asked me when I was in Kansas City if I even HAD any shirts with sleeves.

Is it an illusion to go into a job interview and speak in a different tone than you would hanging out with a bunch of guys in a locker room?

Just because someone changes their image, and character, on occasion, that doesn't necessarily mean that they are hiding or being deceitful and that, perhaps, it's just another facet of their personality.

Nope. That was all the women's idea.

If you are going out... (whether you are meeting someone or just going work) do you put on clean clothes? Make sure it is clean and presentable? Do you take a shower? Do you brush your hair? Brush your teeth? Put on deodorant?

Those things all are a fabrication on who you are. So by tossing on a little "Old Spice" and shaving you are fabricating an "image" of yourself?

Well... I am putting my @ss in the shower and I am going to use floral scented soap. (in order to fool everyone into thinking that I naturally smell like flowers). Then I am going to spackle on my 'facial restructuring' make-up (in order to totally change my appearance so that I can look like a super-model). Oh! And I will put on clothes that will make me look fabulously skinny (because G*d forbid that I am larger than a size 0!)

Everyone have a good day! I am gotta here! waving

That's all personal hygiene. For work, it isn't even noticed if someone's clothes are clean or not, because it's a dirty job anyway.

Those things all are a fabrication on who you are. So by tossing on a little "Old Spice" and shaving you are fabricating an "image" of yourself?

I shave because I have very sensitive skin, and stubble on my face is very irritable. It causes a rash similar to rosacea, and is very painful and uncomfortable. Also because of this, I rarely wear any cologne.

Anybody who knows me knows I put on no airs.

Personally, I put on make-up for me. I like to enhance the features I was born with with subtle touches. That and to cover up the zit on my chin. sad

I wear a bra because honestly when you have a larger chest, "the girls" can be less that great feeling when they are "free swinging" without one.

I dress in slimming clothes because I know I'm not a size 2 and I prefer to not accentuate the fact that my ass is the size of Texas.

Heels make me feel good. I enjoy being a little taller. And heels give you a good "back swing". (see previous paragraph) rofl

I myself almost never wear heels I don't care how they make my ass look! There not comfortable and I end up being taller then my date! As far as makeup just a little for me to feel beautiful, if he don't like me how I am then he don't have to look at me. What you see boys is what u get!
