actually cross country skiing seems like it would be pretty tough, some of those events cover a ton of miles in really crappy conditions.

I think anything that involves talent, coordination, strength, and athleticism is a sport, so yes, I think skateboarding is a sport.

Yes indeedy! I practiced Mixed Martial Arts and fought for 2 years, and it was the toughest thing I've ever done with the exception of my military training.

Being a Jockey. Think about weighing 110 pounds and trying to control a horse that weighs anywhere from 900-1200 pounds. Then going pretty much full speed from 6 furlongs to a mile and half. trying to squeeze through holes.....This is sounding to much like my first marriage...I'll get back to you.

channel surfing

but i would actually say statically base jumping is probably the most dangerous, you only have seconds after jumping to pull your chute or...splat

according to Spike's Manswers, it's boating(even though they technically say "fishing")

I hate when people say American football isn't as hard as it seems. Even though they have those pads on (I know from experience and I'm sure others do to) you can FEEL that hit! Pads aren't much when ya have a 250lb linebacker hauling ass at you and nailing you onto your back. So with that said...

I'll say NFL and NHL

I love NFL and am sure it is a very hard sport to keep up with, BUT I have to say NASCAR is the hardest. Go EDWARDS 99.
