followed? I feel they are rarely followed, whereas a public commitment to achieve some goal, such as loosing weight or giving up smoking, is likely to be much more effective. May be because approval and appreciation of others for reaching one's target is valued.

What you feel about it?

I think it does not matter. Most people don't do what they say they are going to do, regardless of how many people they tell.

Example: Any US president.

I think you try harder if you say it out loud but in the end the result is the same.

well lets put it this way. i know a friend who signed up for the breast cancer 3 day last year ... and didn't do it.

maybe practice walked 4 times in her life.

the whole world (our lil world) knew she signed up, but the weekend came and went and we then knew... she was sittin on her arse at home in front of the tube.

so yeah.

it all depends on the person.

as a whole, mostly i think publicly noted resolutions are worked with more. private ones get forgotten.

its like lent.

i think it depends upon the person and their inherent personality.

if you receive validation from others and are outwardly focused, then you'd be much more likely to succeed with the support and/or knowledge of those around you.

if, however, you're like me and inwardly focused...you could give a rat's ass what others think and are actually MUCH more likely to hold your word to yourself.

Isn't that funny and if you truly loved and repected yourself your private resolutions would mean more. crazy

I've follwed every one of mine, and they're all just between my and myself. Actually, mine are just rules that I make for myself. Dont know if a resolution is different.

Yep.

The ONLY person your resolution is going to affect, ultimately....is yourself.

When one own's their sh*te.... (everything they do, they own)... a resolution or resolve, is completely internal.
