i used to crawl into people's laps a lot when i was a kid, so much so that people ceased to realise when i did after a while. one day i crawled into my sister's lap and when she smelled food burning on the stove, her first instinct was to rush up immediately, not realising i was in her lap. i flew across the room and hit my face into the fairly sharp corner of a table... about an inch above my eye i was bleeding and my older sister freaked out and was panicking ( i couldn't see what the fuss was about) my mother was called from work and i was rushed to the nearby clinic. just a smidgeon lower and i could've lost my eye
fun times i have a tiny, almost invisible scar in my eyebrow as a reminder. |

Walked along a loose rock fence...fell face first onto the sharp edge of a rock where a spike caught me in the middle of the lower jaw...just below my front teeth.....my head was pinned to a rock for about 1/3 an hour.
But, it was the adult injuries that still mess with me. |

Road rash on the backs of my calves, thighs, back and elbows when I was 6 after a motorcycle accident with my Grandfather(he almost died). I've never in my life seen such thick nasty massive scabs. I still have many scars.
I broke my arm in a gymnastics class when I was 8. Lost the tip of my right index finger in an unfortunate meat grinder accident at 15. |

Hmm... Moped meets skateboard, body flies over handle bars, chin plants on the asphalt. Chin opened up to bone and took over 200 stitches (plastic surgeon) in layers inside and out of chin, 10 stitches on the inside of the bottom lip (after they dug out all the pebbles), 4 stitches on the gash on my nose, scrapes on both arms from wrists to elbows, concussion, severely sprained wrist, shoulder, knee and ankle.
Amazingly no bones broken. And the doc said it was the first time in his life he could honestly say that if I HAD been wearing a helmet, it would have killed me. Because of the way I landed, if I had been wearing a helmet, it would have snapped my neck. One of the few times in my life that not listening to my parents worked out! |
