My take on Obama is this:

He's a smart man playing a political game. Right now he doesn't have the knowledge or wisdom to take "action". He is, however, advertising lots of "motion". The problem is that people are turning to him to be a leader when he's not. He's always taken as neutral a standpoint as possible from the beginning so people can't side against him. Notice how 90% of what he says is obvious, Like "We need a healthcare program that will help the uninsured, but won't put a strain on the middle class." This isn't actually a quote, but you all get the jist of it.

But i think he would push for the right thing if he felt enough pressure from the people. Right now he is being seduced by lobbyists and the democratic party agenda. If people pushed him to adhere to our constitution, maybe he would start standing up for it...

On gun control, no, he won't take ALL guns away. But what he will do is take assault weapons away. He will also give power to local government to remove guns as well. This is a step backwards.

The fairness doctrine is another example of the democratic agenda. Basically it will require all media to be "bipartisan". The problem is the criteria for this is unclear, and it can be used to censor the media. This is a direct violation of the first amendment.

Another example of him being "seduced" is the patriot act. Before he even became president he voted "yea" to reinstate it. This is a violation of the 4th amendment.

It's not all Obama, but it is his administration. But for a constitutional lawyer he already violated 3 out of 5 of the bill of rights. He is also making no effort to change our foreign policy either.

Don't get me started on this "stimulus package"...

If people don't start pushing for him to do the right thing, his damage WILL excede the great G.W. That's pretty impressive for someone who hasn't been in office long.

what part of "shall not be infringed" is hard to understand?

besides, you can't get assault weapons without a class 3 FFL or NFA license. those guys aren't the ones going around shooting people. Enforce the laws that are already on the books. The problem is with street criminals who commit the crimes, not the inanimate object in his hands or clumsily shoved into the waistband of his pants.

You, a former soldier, are the last person I expected to come out in favor of arms control.

what a new Obama-style "assault weapons" ban will outlaw: all semi-auto shotguns, rifles, handguns and all the ammo that feeds them.

That describes about 90% of most every gun owner's cabinet. pump action shotguns, bolt action rifles and revolvers are all that's left. meanwhile police departments spend tax-payer money on ar-15's kevelar, barret .50's, armoured vehicles. some say the miilitarizing of police departments is behind the current acute shortage of .223 ammo.

Who should be afraid of whom here?

there has already been rumblings about import restrictions on surplus ammo and availability of the more common calibers right now is slim at best.

personally, I think he won't be happy until all that's left available for public consumption is smooth bore muzzle loaders..

yes i am a former soldier , and i am i own guns . i just feel there are guns civilians shouldnt own . i am not in the service anymore and personaly dont own anything bigger then a hunting rifle . now if they ever try to take my hand guns or rifle away i'm right with you .

How you gonna protect youself with handguns and a hunting rifle when they come at you with full body armor and full automatic weapons to take those remaining guns away?

Not conspiracy. Not a theory. Im not making a prediction in any way.

What i am doing is stating WHY we have that amendment. Read a little about Thomas Jefferson, Thomas paine, Andrew Jackson, Benjamine Franklin, George Mason, etc. The weapons are designed to protect us from the U.S. government. Not the left wing, nor the right, the government as a whole.

Evidence that they want to take our freedoms away:

The Patriot Act - which is right and left wing approved overrides forth amendment (right to trial by jury, illegal searches and seizures, etc.)

The Fairness Doctrine - left wing approved (Overrides freedom of speech)

And most of all - gun control (Overriding second amendment)

There is no reason to disarm the population unless you are afraid of them.

Fact: Gun control does not prevent, or reduce crime. In the best case senario crime is not affected. In the worst, crime goes up. Crime is affected by poverty, however.

So, why would they want to take away our guns then?

This is for your safety, and the rest of the people. This PROTECTS US AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT.... That is why we have it.

Our forefathers created america out of a revolution. If our government becomes as tyrannical as england was at the time (and it's on it's way) we are supposed to take it back. If they resist, we the people are supposed to take it by force. Understand?

It's all about "What if?" Hell why do we have the police? Because a crime MIGHT BE COMMITED. Why do we have laws? Because someone MIGHT VIOLATE YOUR RIGHTS.

It's a preventive measure.
