Hi whisper,
I have chronic back problems and take 2 Aleve or 800 mg Motrin twice a day, that usually helps with the pain. A heating pad is good, too. Hope you're feeling better soon. SheNerd :) |

well whisper i can relate
i have 3 disc virtually gone l 3,4,5 the rest compressed and/or bulging try laying on the floor on a matt iyou have one but your feet up on couch or chair if you have to lay in the bed find enough pillows and/or cushions to raise you knees to as near 90 degrees as possible if you need to change position and lie on your side place pillow or pillows between your knees these will help to remove the pressure on the effected area ------------------------ hope it helps |

Thank you everybody for your advice. It is really nice to know that so

I know Nus, I have been dealing with this far to long, I had to force my
doctor last week to book a Cat Scan for me, Still waiting on the hospital to call me with that appointment. |
Naproxen (Aleve) works better for me than ibuprofen. Don't have to take
as many pills either, works 8-12 hrs. Just be sure and eat with it, it's the only thing I've ever taken that I can't take on an empty stomach. |
You guys do not know how badly I wish Canada sold Aleve. I had the
opportunity to take it a few years ago and it was the best damn stuff I had ever taken. |
Good for you whisper. Don't let them bum rush you into anything that you
don't feel comfortable with. This is your back and it has to last you for a long, long time. Of course you must be aware of all the contraindications of OTC anti-inflammatories. Ibuprofin and acetominophin esppecially can have a toxic effect on the liver. And don't drink alcohol! |
No worries there Nus, I quit drinking a long time ago. I am calling my
doctor in a few minutes to see what is going on with the appointment. |
Glad to hear your not a drinker. I drank to relieve the pain and quit
the day before I went to the hopsital for my hip replacement. Life looks real different sober and pain free! Hey, keep us 'posted' on what the docs say. In the meantime-if you have a cane and it makes getting around easier-use it! |
A can would be good, but not something I keep handy
![]() you for your support and your advice ((((Nus)))) ![]() |

Whisper, I have the same problem from a car accident. Take Tylenol PM
(X4) and get drunk... pain will go away and you'll get a good nights sleep... hope this helps ![]() |

You're quite welcome, whisper. I may bounce around the threads and joke
alot but I have a serious side as well. Right now, I'm sitting comfortably on it without pain-something I could not do three years ago! ![]() |
