I just dont write anymore even if I think they are perfect for me. Trying to say the right thing making sure everything is right and then Nothing. I just cruse the sites thats all. That was my experience, too. Now I figure if they want to talk to me, they can initiate it. What about initiating OTHER activities? Not everything starts and ends with e-mail. Or if it does, my life has become sort of pointless....!! |

Rule of thumb: is she can't take a compliment = low self-esteem

Dating sites online make communication between guys and girls so much easier, especially if u are shy. dont you just hate it when ur browsin profiles and you see someone that u think is very attractive and that u like their profile, but when u send them a compliment on their looks and things you like about their profile and they dont even as much as send a thankyou email back? Well, I wouldn't really know, since I haven't been on a dating site in years. However, I do think many women tend to not take compliments well anymore these days, mostly because I believe they think most men have an ulterior motive. Not many guys today can say, "Hey, I like your outfit," without getting a raised eyebrow in return, like, "Whaddya want? If you're looking for sex, keep looking." |

Hey if you see unread deleted don't be disappointed, some users (.01%) get 100 new emails a day if they have a great picture up. People like that don't have time to read your message even if they wanted to.

It would completely depend on how the compliment was worded, and if the message was totally about how I appear. Absolutely! Sometimes emails are very ghetto, misspelled and crass. I won't reply to those; however, I reply to everyone that sends a nice message whether a compliment is contained or not. Wishing me a happy day is just as good or better. I send quite a few messages complimenting guys and only about 50% are returned. I know they have read the message because it's marked 'read' in my sent folder. I don't think being too busy is much of an excuse since it takes about 10 seconds to type "thank you" and click send. Oh well, we can't expect people to act like we would act ourselves. |

Yeah. A great many people seem to think that such things as common courtesy fly out the window when they're communicating online. It's almost like they think that no one will notice or something.
I'm the same way- if the compliments are "crass" (and the ladies can be just as bad as the men are, BTW), then I won't respond. However, if the compliments are polite and NOT overtly tasteless, then chances are that I WILL respond. |

I do believe that's from another site. |
