i didn't used to be. i used to be one of those people who had to have someone with me (either a man or friends) to be happy. then when i was alone, i was sad. depressed. totally bummed out.

then my best friend once told me "you need to work on just being happy with you." something like that. she told me i needed to be okay being alone.

so thats what i worked on. and dang it was hard. but now...

i never moan about not having a man, i won't settle for a jerk just to not be alone, i am not afraid to try new things alone and i enjoy hangin out with ... myself. :)

I dont mind being alone most of the time..it would be nice to curl up with someone on a cold night though

Not only am I comfortable being alone, I'm very happy too.

I am happy being on my own right now. While I do love hanging out with friends, I don't have to have someone with me to go do things.

I am comfortable in my own shoes. It does take some deep soul searching to find that inner happiness. Society teaches us to search for it in relationships, in cars, houses, clothes...


P.S. I don't know that I would be okay with being the "last person on earth"--now that would be depressing .... LOL

i just realized that with this post... who in their right mind would admit to being so codependent as to need others to enjoy life.

I can deal with being alone. Sure there are days when I wish I had someone at home to talk to and snuggle with other than the dog, (when she starts talking back, then I'll worry. lol), but you know, I'd rather be alone than in a relationship based on lonliness. And your friend was right--you do need to learn to be comfortable with yourself and discover who you are as an individual rather than as part of a pair.

People on here have said it before. I wouldn't be surprised if some people did step up and say they're not happy being alone.

being alone spurs my creativity but i also enjoy spending time with friends or making love to a beautiful woman as with everything in life,it's all about balancing the different aspects of our personalities be seeing you

I am confortable with being alone but I would much rather share the joys of my life with someone special.

A life of too many people around me all the time makes me value my alone time. So I love being alone, except for sex.

I learned a long time ago that there are worse things in life than being alone. For now, I am happy with my life, I have a great family and great friends! I know the "right' one will come along!!!

Well singmesweet is right! here I am... NO I don't enjoy being alone! But, can I deal with it and am I happy with my life and who I am.. Of course.. But we want to have someone else in our lives to share with .. That's what life is about. if you ever read my profile you will understand what I am talking about...

I used to be like you. Its called co dependant. Im ok with being by myself and sometimes prefer being alone. But at the same time Ive become too independant and thats not a good thing either. Im working on being interdependant.

Human beings need others in their lives.
Not necessarily as spouse or partner.
