It depends on the person's point of view.Ive been trying to figure it out myself so I asked women in stores about clothes sizes.
Average size for a woman is size 13 and under.Plus size is 14 and above.Petite is 5'4 and below.Misses sizes are in the odd numbers.Small is size six and under
If a person asks you about your weight just tell them your pants size lol

I don't know about these numbers. They don't jive with what I see in society; even if you factor in Asian women who are small generally. I think a lot of the numbers are skewed by adult clothing being purchased for children. If you get above a size fourteen the stores just don't offer that much. You either sew or pay a fortune so of course you buy fewer garmets.

I think many women buy mens clothing because it is more comfortable, function, and often better quality. Example if I want a pair of pants I want them to have pockets.

I do think normal and larger women just get discouraged and give up shopping when they see the ugly poorly made garmets that are available off of the rack.

People in stores have no idea about mail order clothes but I think the numbers must be huge because there are so many catologs and they don't stop in the small sizes.

I find it interesting that men who are my size; same height and weight; still seem to think they are normal and I am not. And they don't have boobs which are in some cases substanial. lol

Well, if you have pics they should be able to see you and see if your "few extra pounds" is too much or too little for them. I personally see that as a lil bit of chub or some tits and ass. Either way, it's just something soft to cuddle with... Who wouldn't want that?

Can I get in on that?

I know what you mean about the bigger sizes.I've been at both ends of the spectrum.Have the same problem finding petite pants...even today's teens are taller than me

My personal experience has been . That a lot ( not all) of women list themselves as "average" That's ok ...EXCEPT their interpation is screwed up. YOU don't look around at your peers, co workers and others to do a comparison. To many people (men and women) are actually overweight. So a few "extra pounds" will scare the hell out of me. People should use some kind of Medical guideline. nothing like seeing a 300 lb woman naked in a bath tub that said " i am average"tears tears tears tears tears

I have learned being a little fluffy keeps the ones who are "so perfect they think there stuff doesn't stink" away;which doesn't hurt my feelings at all.

To me, a few extra pounds, which is my selection, means that I weigh 190, when I should weigh maybe 170 or so. I think most americans are in that catagory from what I have seen and read. Dennis

I am a big woman. I have the problem of the differences in men. Some men consider me too big some consider me thick and juicy and love it. I struggled with the options available. I consider myself thicker than "a few extra pounds" but I have been told I am not heavyset. So I put stocky down but have been told that is a description for a man. My bmi is considered just into the obese stage so if I go by that I am extremely fat.

On the flip side of that I love myself and I feel attractive and sexy so I have no problems with myself the way I am but I don't want to appear a liar on the profile.

So what do you do?

Too many times I see "thin" listed, and it's actually more like "a few extra pounds".

So when I see that, I automatically think they are on the higher end of their ideal weight range when just a head shot it provided.

I love whatever pounds the woman that makes my heart happy is, weight for me is not an issue. I was in love with very thin woman and some what people would say fat woman but I loved both style with all my heart.
