Am I the only one, or are there more among us? I got with my ex when I was 15... We never really 'dated' like most people do. Fast forward 11 years and here I am... Hmm... so tell me I'm not alone. ;) And.. what should I know? I've never dated.

I just realized I entirely misinterpreted this thread. I apologize. I guess it never hurts to hear about 60 year old male virgins to make the rest of us not feel so bad. Yeah buddy!!!

Be who you are, honest with yourself and only do it when you really want to. If you're lucky to find a man that will not see that as a conquest or a challenge but understands and loves you and is ready to wait for you then you'll be the happier. And don't worry about the learning thing or the experience if he loves you he will take care of you.

No you are not alone. I have a friend on this forum who is a male and a virgin. He is 60! He regrets it and it is primarily due to his Christian upbringing. He is now free of that and is trying to find a woman who will be understanding of this. I don't think she meant a real virgin, hymen in intact. She means she never went through a normal adult dating ritual, just stuck with her high school sweetheart. Lucky girl.

I abstained from dating at all for about 6 or 7 years out of 10, just following the split with the ex husband. Funny, people get used to you being a lone, so they give you a hell of a time for wanting or needing to date and/or be sexual when you finally do, after that. Especially us single moms. They expect us to be completely chaste and not have sex or even date much of the time.

Not all virgins have hymens by the way.
