Topic: Okay, How did he do it? (GOD) | |
---|---|
I just gotta' ask...who cares how he did it and why? Well for one, I do. (I think I have told everyone WHY in this thread.) Simply because the creation story of genesis is being touted as truth, and a lot of Christians are screaming about the scientific theory of evolution being taken out of schools and wanting the story of creation put in. That does not make sense. I have also been told that the theory of evolution is "not logical" and "makes no sense" by a Christian who supposedly believes the Bible is accurate. That story makes no sense either, at least to me. I am wondering if it makes any sense to anyone else, and apparently it doesn't or apparently they are all of the attitude that they don't care. I want to know why they would choose that over science. Is there any reasoning and logic behind that? Who cares? That is a very strange question. Is the Bible true? .... WHO CARES! |

I give up then. Nobody will step forward and defend their Bible. Nobody will even dare to try to imagine how the creation story in Genesis is logical or how it makes any sense at all. So I am declaring the age of Pisces over. The age of Jesus is over. It was all a hoax. It was all a myth. Christianity is done for if nobody can even imagine how a deity created a man from the mud and then brought him to life. It is time for people to put away childish things and stop believing in myth as if it were true. I believe in intelligent design folks. But the Bible version is just not cutting it. I will let this thread die on the vine I guess. |

Seriously, you don't understand what is illogical about a deity forming a man out of mud or clay and then breathing life into it? Literally, that does not make much sense, and I mean seriously. Even me, a non Christian. can use my imagination and come up with a decent interpretation of what that story is all about. But I would also have to use what I believe about the structure of reality to do it. I am just asking if anyone else can explain it. But you are right, nobody cares, they just have faith that it somehow happened. It is obvious that people 2000 years ago were not capable of understanding the structure of reality and the nature of time or that everything is made up of atoms and the truth was just way too much for them to grasp, so this story was sufficient for them then. But today there exist, wonder of wonders, inquiring minds, who really are interested in the How of things. Who cares why? What is the big deal with why anyway? TO LIVE AND EXIST... THAT'S WHY... what is so hard about that? Or maybe the question is why would God want a bunch of imperfect sinful humans messing up the planet? I don't know what you mean by WHY. |

I seek comfort in knowing that when I do die I will see those I love who have already passed on into the other dimension once again. In fact it thrills me beyond words to express how wonderful it is to know this without any doubts. The flesh body turns back into the dust from whence it came but your soul lives on in a perfect spirit body that resembles the one you have now. You are immediately present with the Lord and his light comes to collect your soul while you are realizing you see yourself dead yet are amazed because you also realize you are still alive and no one alive in the flesh can see or hear you anymore. To me it is wonderful to know! It is also the truth! Not just something I believe to be true. Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." (2Corinthians 5:8, KJV) |

Seriously, you don't understand what is illogical about a deity forming a man out of mud or clay and then breathing life into it? "JennieBean" ..christians are not allowed to answer that question because it goes against their faith to do so ...faith doesn't require anthing to be logical it requires the belief to be accepted and not questioned..that's why to have faith means not to know not require to know or not what to know ... Faith=see no..hear no..speak no..beyond the belief |

I think too hard?
Perhaps. But there are those who call me a "kook." Today after talking to my sister she asked me why I spend so much time reading about things like sacred geometry, particles, infinity, the holographic model of reality, atoms, quantum physics, crop circles, aliens, etc.... because she has no interest in those things. She plays games and reads about medical cures and illnesses and stuff. That is her interest. It is because I am interested in the truth of the structure of reality. I am fascinated by tiny things, and very large things. I am amazed at the large stars in this galaxy that make our tiny sun into less than a pixel on my computer screen. And I am amazed at the structure of an atom and the tiny things that exist in that. These things are awesome and mind blowing. After looking at science and religion and the medical profession and the human body and the universal bodies I realize that we know nothing. We think we know things, but what we know is minuscule. BUT I feel something that you call "GOD." It is inside of me. It is I AM. It is inside of everything. It is existence, it is consciousness, it is alive, it is intelligent, it is infinite and it is totally awesome. But it not what people say it is. IT IS NOT WHAT PEOPLE SAY OR THINK IT IS. |

My dear friends,
I am just stating what I truly believe is the truth. I am not here to stir up trouble or make anyone feel bad. I have no secret agenda. I hope you find all the answers you are looking for individually. I luv ya either way! |

It has to be logical because the excuse given for not accepting the scientific theory of evolution was that it was not logical and did not make any sense. So that means that if you believe in the creation story, that it must be logical in order to make sense. Also, it is logical that however God did it, there has to have been a means and a way he could have done it. There has to be some sort of theory involved in how it was accomplished. Was it a computer program? Was it nano-technology? Are we just a dream or part of God's imagination? Is god a supreme being or an alien? What is the nature of this God that created a man out of Mud and how did he do it? Does anyone have any ideas that might be believable in even a science fiction sort of way? He's God - he's omnipotent. He thought that the earth should be made and it was made. Given the characteristics the religious attribute to God, I think that's certainly logical. One interesting question to ask is, "Did God create the universe or just Earth?" In the Old Testament, it makes it seem like God created just the Earth. I wonder if the universe was there before God, and if he simply used the mechanisms of physics and biology to evolve a species in his own image. That would explain the evolution business. |

He's God - he's omnipotent. He thought that the earth should be made and it was made.
So they say... but how does anyone know that God is omnipotent? Even if I were to assume this to be true, that does not explain HOW he did it. "He thought the earth should be made and it was made." Then are you saying that the earth was manifested from God's thoughts? Like a dream? Are you suggesting that this is a thought manifested universe? |

"notquite00"...since an omnipotent God supposedly have no (needs and/or wants) then it's no logical reason for God to have created the Earth or to create anything lesser than himself |

Evangelists don't care whether anything makes sense. All they care about is proselytizing their religion.
This statement is true. They dont care. In fact, if you scroll through this thread you will see at least 3-4 responses from Christians stating that "it doesn't matter" and "who cares." Thats bologna! You have NO possible justification for these fairy tales. You better care if you expect to pull an accredited scientific course of study out of our public school system that is funded by state taxes. You better dam well have a better explanation than "just accept it and monkeys suck." I will direct some of you that make these declarations to the "Scope's Monkey Trial." The Theory of Evolution is complicated yet makes perfect sense once you take the time to actually focus on its key components. |
